PS2 Tech Over-view...
« Reply #15 on: September 28, 2001, 06:30:08 AM »
Is this the technology put to use in "Stretch Panic"?

Please give us a hypothetical situation of what this might be applied to in a video game.

Are you saying that you could be playing SOCOM and when you walk through "soft" ground you will leave footprints to be found and the other players could follow. And the footprints would stay there because they are not added information, but a change made to the actual wire-frame? Like Tank tracks, Truck tracks, grooves where bodies were dragged through the mud. Changes made by actual surface to surface contact and weight distribution?

Please clear this up for me and give me some of your ideas on other uses for this.

Juslight: that\'s a pretty good example of what i mean.

Soulgrind: why don\'t you up the character length to 100K?

Dood.. Next time just give us the link.. ok.

LOL, you said it!

I thought with 17 replies (@ this time) that there was an actual discussion going on. When in reality 14 of those posts were from Megiddo.

Anyhow.. I\'ll read some of it when I get the chance.

Great article, thank you!

Can you resend the link? the one posted in the opening post doesn\'t seem to work. I need this article, because I am keeping track of all good tech-overviews on the PS2. I\'ve already got a few and this one is definately one that I need to add.

Thanks... :)

Sounds like more talk and over-hyping.  It\'s hard to compare a new programming method that isn\'t even in its preview stages yet to 2 consoles from which we\'ve barely seen anything from yet.

I\'m confused as to what the point of this thread is.  I enjoy watching TV as well, but I really don\'t care to read the tech specs of the camera used in filming a sitcom.

Just think, all the time you spent posting this stuff you could have spent doing something fun or worth while......like playing a game, helping grandma cross the street, donating blood, or picking your nose.   I only wish I could have the 10 minutes back that I wasted skimming through and replying to this thread.

Speak for yourself Raze

Quite a few of us are interested in tech info on these machines

even though I didn\'t understand much of it

I also think he shoud\'ve just linked us to the article instead of pasting it here though
