My point is, a painted plastic toy gun can get you killed. It\'s a toy made to look like a toy for obvious reasons.

Now...as a gun advocate, you better keep your toy guns looking like toys.....it takes me only a second to pull the snub nose .38 from my ankle.

Why should the actions of idiots determine the "real-ness" of toy guns? I don\'t believe in evolution, but adjusting society to better adhere to the ignorant and stupid among us is reverse-evolution.

A handfull of morons would use a real looking toy(gun) to rob a store, or otherwise get themselves killed...so what? Why should the VAST majority of us change OUR life for those fools?

Again, I could really care less about light-gun colors, but the IDEA of forming our rules of society on the actions of a demented few is grounds for extinction.

Anyway, I say make em\' look real, and if some kid get\'s capped because of it..... It\'s the dumb-ass kids fault, not the "real looking gun".

I have a bb gun that looks like it could be a "real gun". If I\'m so stupid to pull it out on cops, or use it in a robbery and end up DEAD, don\'t shed a tear for my sorry ass, applaud instead. The gene pool just got a little deeper.

I think when a corporation like Namco or Sony decides to sell their console peripheral like the Guncon2 in an ORANGE color, they not doing it for some high minded principle of "adjusting society to better adhere to the ignorant..." They simply are protecting themselves from product liability lawsuits in the event that 9 year old little Petey gets blown away when John Q. Law comes to bust his crackhead parents.  It\'s nothing more complicated than that.  If you don\'t like orange, just paint it black; takes about 6 minutes.

I have the Japanese version of the GunCon. It\'s black. And when I played it, a friend of mine came into the room(after my girl friend let him in)....he nearly had a heart attack when he saw sitting on the floor with a "gun" in my hand. Well...he\'s from 82nd Airborn so he\'s a bit war fatigued even today(and Desert Storm was 10 years ago). Go figure. Plus...with all the news about shootings.

Ah well....sign of the times. Laws are created after the fact. Seatbelts weren\'t a necessity til more people died. Plastic guns were mistaken by cops as real guns and capped the 9 year old standing in the hall way. So....they made them pink.

Anyway...Cignus....people can make mistakes....idiotic mistakes? Can you blame them for thinking it was real at first glance? That\'s how laws are determined.

I wonder if they made all real guns bright orange would people still want a black guncon or would they like orange so they could still look "cool" and realistic when they shoot their toy guns at the TV?

The fruity Orange gun looks sick!  I could handle a dark Green, Blue, Grey, but not Orange.  It\'s a color Nintendo would come up with.  I bet if you brought that gun in your suitcase at the airport they probably would not let you on the plane.  It\'s a Plastic Gun with bullets!  The cord is some high tech bomb!  Your under arrest!  This is off topic, but why would Airports allow box cutters on the plane, or Swiss Army knives?  All a terrorist has to do is press the small blade on a passengers Jugular Vein and he\'s dead.  I was under the impression that such things were not allowed on board Airplanes.  Anymore cases of Anthrax in the States?  This is getting scary!:(

The important thing is that the gun is of excellent quality.  The color is cheesey but Namco made their decision.  Namco decided to release the game despite the terrorist attacks, which I think is cool.  I wanted the official Sega light gun for House of The Dead 2 for Dreamcast, but because of the Columbine tragedy they decided not to bring it to the States.  I ended up getting the Interact light gun which works preety good on my T.V.  But the official Sega gun was supposed to be as tight as the Guncon.
