All launches have there problems, the only worry for microsoft isthat they have a record when it comes to things working they way they are meant to.

Maybe there is really 10  million sold and the rest was shipped because the other 10 million broke down.  I mean look on these forums, you can\'t come across hardly anyone who hasn\'t brought their PS2 back to the store because of something not working.

Sony sure does spew tons of lies and crap, but then again, they are one of the most deceptive companies on this planet, they make Microsoft look like a little kid when it comes to deceptive marketing and practices.

Their are over 250 million people in America alone.  Only about 8 million PS2s have been shipped to America so far.  What is your point?

It\'s not accurate basing the number of broken PS2s on how many people here complain about them. Most people here bought a launch PS2. After the launch PS2s I haven\'t heard of any cases where the PS2 broke.

20million PS2s have been shipped.. Fact.
300 000 Xboxes will be shipped for launch.. Fact
(Rumors say they\'re having problems and might only have 150 000 ready for launch..Again only rumors)

What I was saying if 1 Xbox broke down its one in 300 000..
If 10 PS2s brake down they\'re 10 in 20million..


What I wanted to say is that every console has it flaws.. They get fixed when the newer versions are out ect.
I havent heard that any newer PS2s have broken down yet..
Maybe the problem is fixed?

I have the questionable pleasure of living down the border in Guadalajara Mexico, I also work at a nice big company which name I will like to keep out of the way for reasons that will become obvious in a minute, the thing is that we are in a tight industrial area of Guadalajara, prety close to "flextronics" the company that is manufacturing the XBOX! (Dramatic revelation!) is not a MS company is just a company they hired to do the job.

A friend of mine (which we will call "Dave" to keep his real name anonymous) works there and was assigned to the XBOX project a month ago. (shocking!) Now you may imagine it must been a really busy month building and testing XBOXes and stuff but.. can you handle the truth? can you?!

According to Dave he has spent the last month doing.. (dramatic pause!) absolutely nothing. As a matter of fact he has been lingering around watching videos on the net and trying to appear to be busy. Why? because they didnt have anything to build! the xbox design finally went into production last SUNDAY! (september 23 2001) (truly shocking!!)

Now what happens if you start production on Sunday on a Mexican factory ? (dramatic pause allowing you to answer) NOBODY is there to do it! only those who are unlucky enough to be there doing extra time, (like poor old Dave was) But they were ORDERED to do it anyway. No QA guys, no big bosses nothing, just a bunch of employees, trying to build a machine for the first time ever! (shocking, er, shocking!)

As you may have guessed things didnt went very smooth, as a matter of fact they didnt go very smooth at all! lots of machines were so defective they didnt pass the normal standards and went back to the line again, Dave and his friend expent hours after hours trying to build the damn boxes but they still were defective, to make a large awful history short they only were able to build 10 Xboxes that day! 10! and those XBOXES who did make it only passed standard tests! no other testing was applied!

SHOCKING HORROR!

To give you an idea, they were supossed to build 3 million machines by november, 3 million!

Dave continues to work there, if everything goes well he will be congratulated for trying to do his best in a desperate time. But there are still those 10 boxes out there... in the shadows. The 10 xboxes he and his friend built.

Are those 10 xboxes alone? will they have company? 3 million in a mere month.. what kind of QA will they have?

Xboxes, everywhere lurking in the shadows.

Umm.. Eric.. That was like a year ago.. When M$ first showed off the Xbox..

I remember it clearly..
The Ravem-robot demo running.. And two guy holding Sidewinder controllers were jumping about on the stage pretending to play it..
Looked pretty ridiculous if you ask me

But later, M$ changed the demo to a real time one. (bad jaggies.)

X-Box has built in FSAA, were you by any chance imagining this? give me a link, I don\'t care how old, I will give you a link of SOny\'s dumb comments if you want, but we already know Sony said them, you can\'t prove what you say.
