See, if we boot it up, sometimes it\'ll just freeze completely. Sometimes it\'ll actually begin to load one of the games, but then we\'ll get a \'Green Screen of Death\' as we call it, and then the system will actually scratch the disk to all hell, destroying it.

Needless to say we were PISSED, I don\'t know about you guys but I was friggin excited about playing some DOA3 man. That\'s really sad. Manager said that this was the final real deal too. Came in the final casing, final box, with instruction manual and all. All signs indicate that this is the box they\'ll be shipping on the 15th.

I hope that our box was a VERY rare case because otherwise MSFT is in some sh*t. We called the number they gave us like 4 times so far, we\'ve opened it up, nothing was physically harmed during shipping that we can see. MS is sending a rep out to see if he can get it working. If not I guess they\'ll send a new one.

Any other people see working or non-working Xbox displays at stores?

BTW, I\'m not posting this as a bash, I\'m sure we got a very rare box. The Gamecube fans that work there with me got a kick out of it though

isn\'t this on unfinished debug kit X-Box\'s? Otherwise, how would this guy have gotten hold of an X-Box?

and like you say, every launch has it\'s problems, maybe this is just ONE bad console in a few thousand, like Sony?

Well if you know Microsoft, chances are this isn\'t 1 in a million. This XBox just went into MS puberty early ;)

I PLAYED the GameCube today, an imported GameCube with Wave Race: Bull ****, I knew this game would suck anyways, but the controller was great.

Now just to wait for Rogue Leader and Super Smash Brothers Melee.

judging by this board, PS2\'s breaking are not even close to 1 in a million, 1 in a few thousand sounds more realistic.

It\'s not accurate basing the number of broken PS2s on how many people here complain about them.  Most people here bought a launch PS2.  After the launch PS2s I haven\'t heard of any cases where the PS2 broke.

Remember those are ps2\'s shiped not sold. So you can comb the fro. But I would speculate that sony has to have sold 15million or close to it.

Everyone road SOny\'s ass during lthe PS2 launch but its obvious that it takes alot more then people perceive to pull off a launch of a next gen console in this huge competitive age we a re in

Growing pains for all 3 systems will happen, its the nature of the beast
