Nice to reminisce.  I pre-purchased mine at my local TRU.  I remember leaving work and heading home, late (around 11:30pm), the night before and passing Best Buy, Target, Wal-mart and the like and seeing INSANE lines...when they were still 8+ hours from the store opening.  I remember thinking, "$hit, I\'ve pre-paid for my PS2 at TRU...and I\'m gonna have to wade through a line like THAT to get my game console???!!!  So what did I do, even though I\'d already pre-purchased my PS2?  You got it, I booked it to TRU that evening!  To my surprise & relief the word must have very well been out that TRU only had pre-orders for launch day, because no one was there...not a soul.  Even still, I slept uneasy that night and then woke up early to arrive at 5:30am at TRU.  Still no one...yup, I felt a titch a fool, but then again, I was going to assure myself that someone else didn\'t talk some 16 year old clerk out of my pre-ordered system either.  1st in line as it were, others shortly followed; most were pre-order folks.  Once in a while, someone walked up to the line...hehe...saying "wow!  What a short line...I\'m sooo lucky"  Yeah, right chump!  Hit tha\' bricks!  Actually we were all quite friendly with one another, but there really were a few boneheads that thought they were gonna hook up easy.  And of course, there were the mack daddies that would drive by asking if any of us wanted to buy a PS2 for $600...one guy had 10 in his trunk!!!  Do the math...that guy undoubtedly sold all of \'em by that afternoon!!!  Anyway, radio station came by & I got on the air.  They left us donuts and more memories.  Manager came out early to talk with all of us and such...nice guy, opened the store 30 minutes early realizing it was silly to have 25 or so law-abidin\' pre-orderin\' folks standing outside waiting around to make some big purchases with him.  I walked out with my PS2 and 6 games...and I paid a little over $20 for the whole schmere cuz I was saving my Geoffery Dollars for the entire prior year!  Took a personal day off from work and played my buns off!!!  Mmmm!!!  It was a great day!  Happy B-day PS2!

Actually, it was pretty cool at EB getting my PS2.

They had little finger foods and pastries out.  And they were actually pretty good!

I was afraid of someone jacking my PS2 from me as I left the mall, so I actually brought a pig-sticker with me (one of my fav knives too, she\'s a beaut! :D ).  It seems silly, but, I have seen worse done to people, for less.

I left work at about 1:00 that day too.  At the time, I had an open-ended schedule, so, I didn\'t report to work the next day either!  Think it was a Friday!
Let those who stand for tyranny and injustice fear the hell the United States will unleash upon them.

He has the power of both worlds
Girl: What power… beyond my expectations?
AND IT\'S PERSONAL
Demon: No… the legendary Sparda!?
