Since nobody seems happy with the Xbox...

Since barely anybody at these forums seems happy with Xbox, do you guys think the battle for console sales is between the PS2 and GC?

THIS IS NOT A FLAME STARTER. I personally think the Xbox still has some chance to sell decently although it most probably, IMO, will take 3rd place sales-wise. The GC, on the other hand, seems to be doing well and has some games, now and in the future, that look appealing to me. The PS2 is just plowing through the US and Japan and it doesn\'t look like it can be stopped by anything but the GC. If the GC doesn\'t do anything, I think we could see another 70-million seller.

I ain’t happy, more a bit disappointed,  but I don\'t need to b!tch about the XBox, it is just another console, IMO. I\'m very happy with my PS2, and have no burning need for any other console at this moment, maybe in a while I’ll get an XBox and GC, but right now neither has too many titles that i want,

I don\'t want to buy a console and wait 6 months before I can start to enjoy it.

You know, it might be that we are reading a PS2 board.  The folks at teamxbox are thrilled witht heir xbox.

I\'m completely happy with my xbox, its as good as I thought and more.

  Halo owns, and NFL Fever plays as well as madden( I think better) and looks better also.

  Air force Delta storm blows though, I guess its alright, it lacks a sense of speed. I have\'nt played some of the other games so I can\'t judge them.

  The xbox really is a good,,solid system with huge potential you guys should really give it a chance.

And playing games in Dolby Digital 5.1 is sweet, it really puts you into the game.

Wait a 1/2 year - year and see what its like then im just starting to fully enjoy my PS2 with games like GTA3 and Madden 2002 and Tony Hawk 3... dont count the x-box out yet.

I swear some of you guys own Sony stock.

Don\'t get me wrong. I don\'t think the Xbox will be a bad system at all. It\'s just that great consoles don\'t always sell. For example, the Dreamcast and Saturn (yes, the Sega Saturn). I wouldn\'t be unhappy at all if MS sold the most consoles out of the big three, I just don\'t THINK so. With Bill Gates and Microsoft you never can tell.

I am not disappointed at all.  It\'s actually more impressive than I thought it would be.  

Halo is flat out gorgeous and it plays extremely well also. I\'m not a big fan of shooters, but this has turned me. A+

Munch took some getting use to, but I\'m hooked. Amazing Graphics!  A+

Dead or Alive 3.  This is by far my favorite fighting game.  Virtua Fighter and Soul Calibur are a little too slow for my liking.  Tekken, I could never get into it.  It\'s graphics are unmatched!  A+

NFL Fever.  Not the best, but not far from it.  Next year\'s will own! A

Dark Summit.  A unique game.  It\'s good looking but in no way pushing the Xbox.  Choppy frame rate and pop up, just a sloppy job.  It\'s kinda fun.  B-

Jet Grind Radio, Artic Thunder, Silent Hill 2, Project Gotham, Crash, Crash Bandicoot, Mad Dash, Gun Valkerie, Black and White, Soul Calibur 2, Azurik, Panzer Dragoon 4, Sega GT 2, Crazy Taxi Next, Malice...

If you have an extra 20 minutes or so, give my thread a read. I am not disappointed at all. I thought all the launch titles woud suck or be average, but the ones I have playe and gotten have turned out great!

Best launch ever is still Panzer Dragoon\'s launch, I mean Sega Saturn! I am so frickin excited for the new one!

Well I think XBOX is a good and powerful system, but it´s late. If M$ console would have arrived 1 year before, the system could win the war. Now, with 21 (or more) millions of PS2 sold and great games for Sony (FFX, MGS2, BG, SC2, J&D...), I think XBOX will sell a lot but never as PS2 will do. This war has got a winner. I don´t know what will be the next generation winner but I´m sure that Sony has done 90% at the moment in order to become in the King of Videogames.

who cares about a \'war\'? I talk of the games. My favorite systems ever have been commercial flops. But they have the best games on them for the generation they are in. XBox looks like it is gonna have a TON of killer apps. If you can\'t see that then I can\'t help any of you.

Fate, Project Ego, Panzer Dragoon 4, Mortal Kombat 5, Malice, The Matrix, Genma Onimusha, Ridge Racer Xbox, and Dino Crisis 3 off the top of my head.
