In reference to the piracy thread recently closed. None of you DL mp3\'z? All of you pay for every single piece of sw? I burned close to 300 ps1 games..mainly to have as backups..some I burned to share with friends. I honestly don\'t see the big deal.

The thing is, we can\'t be sure who\'s reading the boards. This is a pretty big site and if some important guy reads this board and see\'s how we are talking about best ways to pirate a game....than well, this site get\'s closed.

I for one am not afraid to admit that I pirate games, music and software (allthough only for personal use...honestly).

But as I said, we can\'t risk it.

No-One....that makes more sense, thanx for taking the time to explain it to me instead of me just seeing threads on it closed time and time again.

Also, wouldnt disclaimers protect the boards from that type of thing? Or more specifically the 1st amendment(i think its the 1st)

All other boards I frequent dont have those worries which is why I asked.

The problem is, (speaking from a web admin sense) if you have someone speaking of piracy or copy right infringement type stuff you want that no where near a serivce you are running.

Just allowing a link or someone talk about it opens you up to so much harrasment.

There are places to talk about it and places to get it, just not here.

The 1st admendment applies to the US dood, this server is not in the US...

Don\'t forget, there a lot of people on there outside of the US, and unfortuneatly the US constitution does not apply.

I can see a disclamer, but thats the admins choice.  With so many corporations causing trouble, the admins don\'t need that headache for supplying us with such a great service.

There are many places to talk about it and if the mods don\'t want to deal with it then that is their choice.  

I think some of the stuff they close is a bit ridiculous, but again, that is their decision.  We just need to only talk about flowers and rate my poo.

Posting a disclaimer on your website will not prevent you from being sued by Sony or any other big corporation.  If Bjorn was sued, and he didn\'t have the money to defend himself in court, then his only choice would be to capitulate to Sony\'s demands.  (which may include shutting down the site.)  Just the threat of a lawsuit is now all the deterrence needed in today\'s Internet.

Ok, in that case, then go to an airport, board a plane with a briefcase and proclaim that you have a bomb in your briefcase.  Watch what happens.

The 1st amendment is fine and all, but there are limits to everything.  This site, or this forum in particular as proclaimed by our communist leader, is not a democracy and what the administrators say, goes.  I know a lot of people on here pirate mp3\'s, games, movies, whatever, but no one here openly discusses it and asks of ways to find it easier and faster.  It\'s just common sense.  Nothing more.

ITs called a traceroute.  And does what it says Traces the Route that the data has to take to reach a certain place..

go re-read what I wrote..I didn\'t say the ppl posting had freedom of speech in a private forum, I meant it more as the content on these boards in general. as in said company vs. ps2central, not a admin/mod vs. a poster.
