My vote goes to Planet of the Apes, worth every cent...

Runner up goes to "15 minutes"

I also liked Snatch, and unbreakable.

NONE OF THE ABOVE
Don\'t you people see that almost every one of those films was pure crap?  What happened to quality and taste in this world?  The only ones that weren\'t crap (Castaway, Snatch, and Unbreakable) were OK but nothing special.  Seriously, you didn\'t even put Memento on that list, and I know several people on this forum would have selected it.  Planet of the Apes?????? WHAT?????  Did anyone actually like that sh1t?????  Did you ever see the original film?

In terms of high quality DVD production combined with a great film, I\'d say that "The French Connection Collection" or "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" or "The Conversation" would be among the top DVD releases of 2001.

Tomb Raider????? Hah hah ha ha ha ha  :(

Coredweller : U cant say Snatch was just an Ok film. It is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. And Unbreakable is also way above the Ok . Jalla Jalla is my 3rd favourite this year, after Snatch and Unbreakable. Swedish movie as it best

Listen, I can appreciate this British crime genre that Guy Ritchie has created, but I\'m just saying that even Snatch was not the best example of it.  I liked Sexy Beast better (different director, same genre), and it still wouldn\'t be on my top 10 list for the year.

When I see one of these films, the humor is nice but it\'s hard for me to take the criminals seriously.  I keep seeing these as Quentin Tarantino rip-offs set in the UK.  I think Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction were much funnier.  Have you seen those?  By the way, if you want to see a really funny film that\'s NEWER, see Made.  Now that\'s a funny crime picture.

As for Unbreakable, I had high expectations, and I felt the film had a good idea with weak execution.  The story was just too simplistic for the pacing.  Shyamalan spent way too much time winding up for that ending, and not enough time keeping the audience\'s attention through the bulk of it.  In the theater where I saw it, I felt a distinct disappointment in the air among all the viewers that were expecting another Sixth Sense.  That was a big part of our problem.  The US marketing gave viewers no sense that the film would be nothing more than a superhero origin story.  I guess they couldn\'t, or no one would have gone to see it.  Also I found the photography mushy and indistinct.  I know that\'s supposed to be a "style" but the DP Serra went way over the edge.  That\'s my opinion.

Yes, I have seen Pulp Fiction, its a good movie, but not better then Snatch or Lock Stock & two Smoking Barrels.... as for Unbreakable.... I didnt know what the movie was about at all.... so I didnt expect anything from it, so maybe we got an different view because of that.

Thanks man! You made my day... I was beginning to worry about people\'s taste as well. But oh well, what can you do... marketing and flashy graphics can get a movie a long way.

BTW, Memento is one of the best movies I\'ve ever seen. Sure beats the "crap" movies on that list by far. ;)

Pearl Harbor was so awful.  What a complete waste of time.  The only partially acceptable acting performance was Josh Hartnett\'s.  The story was worthless, the pacing was excruciating, and the battle scenes just don\'t do it for me anymore.  Yes, the CGI was good, but the movie could have used a SCRIPT!!!!!
