what if bin laden.....
« Reply #30 on: December 15, 2001, 10:25:56 AM »
Everyone feels so safe and secure that our government can do no wrong, that it can do no evil.  Bin Laden is the ultimate killer and we need to take him down.  Ok, that\'s all fine and dandy and if our military is so powerful and we\'re all so great, then how come it\'s the Northern Alliance taking out all the bases, moving towards the cities, and sqeezing supply and troop carrier routes so nothing can get through?  I heard our military dropped a bomb on one of the Al Queda defensive positions.  I heard we dropped bombs on their runway.  I also heard that Bin Laden is cornered as well.

Yes, we\'re the greatest military power in the world and now we are taking it to the afghanis and we are suddenly winning a war with air power in a war that can\'t be won with air power.  So strange.  RUssia tried this years ago and yet they failed miserably losing millions of troops and we have lost so little?  COme on, there\'s something wrong with this picture here.  All these military analysts who have spent their lives in Pakistan and Afghanistan thought the American\'s would get spanked by the Al Queda the same as the Russians, et we have lost no more than 100 soldiers whereas the Russsians lost millions... Please.

"My daddy does this and he tells me this!"

That\'s right, your dad doesn\'t have classified files and he tells you everything that\'s going on.  Your dad is just the bringer of truth and is utterly perfect in everyway, he can not tell a lie and he can not withhold information.  You people better wake up and smell what you\'re shoveling.
Don\'t you ever touch my cape.

You guys dont\' know it if you haven\'t been in it. I\'ve been in a military lifestyle for 15 years. I\'ve lived 2 years in Turkey where I saw carbombs and daily anti-American demonstrations. Strict curfews and tightened security gate checks. Hell I even walked around with the Turks and been inside of Mosques and the entire deal. I\'ve been inside the bomb dumps, the bomb shelters all of it.

The U.S. government I can care less for, the only one I care about is my dad. He works his ass off like you guys wouldn\' t believe and you\'d be surprised at the confidential things he knows. Come on, he\'s not the department\'s plumber, he\'s been the Inspector General of the USAFE and now he\'s Chief of Ammuntions here in Nellis AFB.

I\'m no fool, I know even if we catch and kill Bin Laden, nothing will stop. We\'ll constantly be under fire and terrorism will always be around. Maybe we shouldn\'t police the world so much. I say we back the hell outta Israel and let a war that\'s been raging for thousands of years, continue to rage without as butting our heads in it.

And I can\'t believe Bush pulled out of the Anti-ballistic missile treaty. What a friggin\' moron. This puts tension on everybody now, and as well millions of dollars from tax payers money will be put into a system that we aren\'t even sure works.

America has a sketchy future as of now.

Here are three concepts that makes it a little harder for me to sleep at night (not that I have any problems sleeping, but you get the picture):

- "1984"

- Satellite surveilance

- Echelon

Seeing a pattern here? God I hate Big Brother (and no, it\'s not the TV show I\'m talking about).
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAPETIME!

This is something serious right now and it is, "RETARDED" to compare it to a videogame. Some "What if" questions are appropiate for the time and place. This one is obviously just plain ol\' stupid.

Just b/c its hollywood doesnt mean it isnt happening in real life. open your eyes if you think it isnt possible. Like I said before, I wouldnt put anything past the US government.

Ask yourself why your own government would flood the US cities with drugs? Call bs if you want, but there is even documented proof the CIA was in on the whole thing.

Thats what pisses me off mmore than anything, this holier than thou attitude the US gov. walks around with.

The U.S. government I can care less for

Bah!! "Don\'t trust the US Government" "The US Government is the problem" "It\'s a conspiracy" "Blah blah blah blah and more blah"

I\'m sick of hearing this, I really am. Sure the Government may not be the most "HONEST" people in the world, but our soldiers go and die for a cause! They sure aren\'t there because they want to be, they are there defending AMERICAN PRIDE. Defending "The Free World" Why you think they are several other nations fighting right along with the USA. Because when we were attacked it WAS an attack against humanity, an attack on freedom, and an attack  "On Everything Our Ancestors Have Fought For"

You can badmouth the Government all you like, that\'s your right But if an invasion came on our soil, and the Government was needed to keep the enemy from invading YOUR HOMES and destroying everything you own, and everything you love and have worked for in your life, you might just not hate the US Government so much. Or at least you might give them the RESPECT they deserve.

I\'ll tell you this, I\'m sure proud my Government doesn\'t walk around in the street with AK\'s and shoot me on site if I\'m seen laughing or singing or conversating with a woman. I\'m glad I\'m allowed to watch TV, play video games, and listen to the  radio.
I\'m glad I HAVE THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH!  THE RIGHT TO BARE ARMS!!! AND THE FREEDOM TO PRACTICE ANY RELEGION I WANT

Our Government isn\'t so bad when you take all this and compare it to other countries in the world. And I won\'t even get into some of the other stuff I read here. I think I\'ve written enough.

GODBLESS OUR SOLDIERS THAT ARE DEFENDING OUR COUNTRY. AND GODBLESS OUR ALLIES THAT ARE RIGHT ALONG BESIDE THEM. GODBLESS THE THOUSAND OF LIVES THAT DIED DEFENDING OUR COUNTRY IN THE MANY PAST WARS!

dajo...respecting the soldiers is different than hating your government.  The US government probably is the best out there, but that doesnt mean it doesnt have any flaws. Go ahead and ask why I wont leave either... its the lesser of evils.

It wouldnt be as bad if the governemnt didnt have to deny, hide and twist everything that is real.

No no no..... I understand it has flaws, and yes they do twist some things around. They are hardly perfect, but I guess I\'m just more looking at the Military aspect of it. Your right I agree that they woud gain more respect if they weren\'t so secret or "twist everything"  I just can\'t understand the concept of anyone living in America that can say "The U.S. government I can care less for"
I mean sure, dislike them, or whatever but don\'t just write them off. They care for there people and I feel that remark was kinda wrong. Just kinda set me off I guess.....

Dajo I agree whole-heartedly with your previous post about how people think that our Government are strange, twisted evil men that are constantly plotting conspiracies and BS.

No what separates America from say, Sweden? History. America has the greatest history in the world. The British tried to establish a colony in the new world, however they also imposed heavy taxes on those who lived there, who which thought was unfair that they were paying taxes to people that were a thousand miles away. So they revolted, a bunch farmers, blacksmiths, whoever, went against one of the most powerful armies ever and won. Yada, yada, you guys know the story. Now what\'s Sweden\'s history? Some guy liked snow and he went north and invited more people who liked snow. (Yeah I\'m an idiot, I don\'t know the history of Sweden, shoot me)

I\'m not really trying to make fun of Sweden, I\'m just saying thats what separates the U.S. and other countries.

OK what government DOESNT do that. The US only gets involved when things affect them financially.
