I can\'t wait for this title! Special thanks to IGN.com for the info.
IGN talks with Argonaut about their long awaited, highly anticipated Xbox title.
Ever since we caught a glimpse of Malice during the Xbox hardware demonstration at the 2001 CES, gamers have been twiddling their thumbs waiting to see if Malice will actually look and play as beautifully as that demo promised. We\'re happy to give you the cliched update about that game and tell you that it\'s progressing nicely. So nicely in fact that Argonaut was more than happy to tell us a thing or two about the little lady with the giant hammer.
In a rare display of unity the team at Argonaut was interviewed as a single entity, no individual names were given. This wasn\'t done to protect the innocent as much as it was done to show how the individual elements of a game must come together into one cohesive whole. The designers, artists, programmers, sound people and anybody else with something to say contributed answers to the questions IGN had about Malice.
Take your time to absorb the details and love the fresh crop of new screenshots we\'ve included in the story.
IGN: Is there more pressure on you to get the most out of the Xbox because Malice was included in the demonstration of the hardware?
Argonaut: Certainly, there are expectations, but the truth is we like to apply that pressure to ourselves...it\'s kind of how all this started, a bunch of hugely inventive coders and artists working from a very mad design. Microsoft liked what we were doing and asked us to put one of our levels into a format they could use to demo the hardware at CES.
Having Malice seen as one of the first games to demonstrate the power of Xbox was a moment of pride for us all and a realisation of the vision and potential of all our hard work on this title and on this particular platform. The technology available in developing for the Xbox has allowed us to realise and characterise the whole premise of the game to some phenomenal extremes.
We have a bunch of people doing nothing but looking for as many cool things as we can do with all this cool new hardware...the temptation is always to push it till it breaks and then bring it back from the brink. Pressure? Of course there\'s pressure... but we love it.
