« on: February 09, 2002, 12:18:18 PM »
All my Xbox games and News will be posted in here form 2/9/02 to 2/16/02.  Anyone is welcome to post any Xbox topics in here too.   Enjoy!   =)

I\'ll start with this Exploding News!!

2/9/002

Over 5,000 people were at the event within the first hour!!  WOW!!  :eek:

The physical feeling-just before Xbox event "Xbox Experience" is held for three days by Mon., the 11th from today (February 9) in Akihabara (Tokyo) and Nihonbashi (Osaka). At each hall, ŽŽ—V‘ä which can experience Xbox is begun and the Dolby Digital 5.1ch physical feeling corner, the exhibition corner of peripheral equipment, etc. are prepared.

The Tokyo hall which filled with people who thronged simultaneously [ in the morning ] with opening of 11:00. 5. At 1ch experience theater, "DOUBLE-S.T.E.A.L" and the "air force delta II" can be enjoyed. Since "360 The Modena racing wheel" and the "top gun Fox 2 pro joy stick" are equipped, respectively, the presence of a game is preeminent also for a controller. So that the procession of the waiting for turn is made.
I will feel Xbox thoroughly in these three days, and will choose the software of a guide!

I don\'t want to flame anyone on PS2 Central forum. It\'s not my thing I like to do.  I like to post great news on any games.  I have a good track record on not flaming people for over one year in here.    I don\'t think it\'s funny on flaming members.  =)

ajoh432, you don\'t get the point to this. IMO, this is what the world wanted to see if Japan market will do well.  IMO more developers are just waiting to see if it does well too before the GO on making games for the Xbox.  IMO pre-ordes and this event will be the real test.   And when you coming to Hawaii like you said. hehe   =)

LOL!!  0seven, I found a bigger pictue.

More News on UK Broadband:

Thanks to Xbox Gamers.com for the info.  UK, are you ready to get hook-up?  =)

British Telecom confirmed today that it intends to make "substantial" reductions to the cost of high-speed Internet services in the coming weeks, a move designed to boost interest in the market. No more £40 a month for a high-speed Web connection in the home. Hear that? It\'s the sound of Microsoft and Sony breathing a very large sigh of relief.
"We need to underwrite broadband Britain, " said BT CEO Ben Verwaayen, before confirming a "substantial cost reduction on the wholesale side to allow all partners to have a fundamental repricing."

With Microsoft planning to launch six online Xbox games later this year, those involved in Web projects for the console are understandably jubilant.

"Obviously, we love any price cut," said Kate Wilson, business development manager for Xbox online in Europe. "When we look at what\'s going to drive people to use our service or not, 50 percent say the reason they won\'t consider it is the price of broadband. The more broadband comes down, the better it is for consumers, adoption and I think ultimately even for BT, but obviously they have to figure out their own business model and make sure it works for them in the context.

"I think that Xbox online is going to be an absolutely fantastic product for the gaming market, and then for the mass-market after that."

Sony has been coy about online services for PlayStation 2, but Chris Deering, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, confirmed recently that all internally developed games are currently having online functions included. The first PlayStation 2 game capable of Internet play was Tony Hawk\'s Pro Skater 3, launched by Activision last Christmas.

BT has issued no specific details on the price reductions, but wide-spread speculation is pointing to a possible drop to £25 a month, a similar cost to current cable services in the UK.

Britain lags heavily behind other parts of Europe in terms of broadband availability and costing. DSL connections are available in Germany for a paltry €25 (£15) per month, while Sweden offers its public an astonishing 2.5Mbits/s connection for US$25 (£18) - enough to allow your computer to lift off and fly through the window screaming, "You\'ll never take me alive" and blasting your street with laser bolts.

Bottom line? Internet, faster, cheaper, more widely available, more cash for business and heaps, and heaps, and heaps of PC, Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Gamecube online titles to waste your life on. What more, said the rabbit, could you possibly want?

Also,

Solectron Wins Xbox Contract:

 California service firm Solectron has won a potentially lucrative service contract for Microsoft\'s Xbox in Asia. The deal was reportedly confirmed by Solectron CFO Kiran Patel at a technology investment symposium this week. Solectron also holds the Xbox service contract for the North American market. Specifics regarding Solectron\'s deal for the Asian market remain undisclosed, however, the company is expected to be responsible for quality control services and support. For reference, the Xbox is scheduled for release in Japan on February 22nd.

Crash’s scoring is based on the damage inflicted on other cars and bonus points can be earned for “Crowd Pleasers” such as rolling a car and features different game modes such as Career, Arcade, Multiplayer, and Team games. With a split-screen, four-player mode, Crash allows players to challenge their friends and destroy their ride.

*While playing Crash, players are able to choose from 18 customizable game types and challenges, some of which include:
Free for All -- a standard deathmatch-style game;

*Stuntman -- where points are scored for pulling off stunts, jumps, spins and destroying breakable objects;

*Eliminator -- a race where the last player to pass through successive check points is eliminated;

*Offensive and Defensive Driving -- allowing the gamer to take out an opponent in a given time period or take on a two-on-one challenge where the objective is to stay alive;

*Target Jumping -- in which the player dodges traffic, hits the ramp and nails a target;

*Hunter -- score from hitting a changing designated target;

*Multi-tag -- hit every other vehicle in the arena within a given time frame;

New Shots Of Bloodiest Xbox Game Yet.  :D

The sequel, due out in April, will be released on PS2 and Xbox - and the Xbox shots below demonstrate just how far the game has moved on since its predecessor seven years ago.

As the eponymous Kain, you find yourself stripped of your dark powers by a strange and mysterious figure. The only way to regain them, of course, is to see off dozens of enemy soldiers and demons in as messy a way as possible.

It\'s not all pure hacking though - it\'s a mission-based affair with a focus on stealth as well as combat, with plenty of suitably spooky-looking environments to sneak through.

We should be getting hold of some playable code in the very near future so look out for a hands-on play test shortly

Some new screenshots  of Commandos 2 have been released. :D

The Pyro Studios developed game is set in World War II and features a variety of locations such as infamous Colditz prison, the Eiffel Tower and the Taiho aircraft carrier, as well as boasting direct control over the characters in the game instead of the original point-and-click interface as seen on the PC version.

Commandos is set for launch next month, along with the European release of Xbox.
