Playstation 2 Glasses!
« on: February 12, 2002, 05:49:48 PM »

Do you want a real action experience? If the answer is Yes then you need the new Olympus Eye-Trek FMD-20P Game/DVD glasses which give you a real action experience when playing on the PlayStation®2 Computer Entertainment System.

The revolutionary prism technology in the mini LC displays gives you a crystal-clear picture in perfect focus. Fasten your safety belt and take part in the motor race of a lifetime, or fly through space with your very own ship. The experience is so real and intense you get caught up in the action. Try it out and see what it\'s like to be right at the middle with Eye-Trek instead of just a spectator on the sidelines.

Key Features:

Personal display that connects to the PlayStation®2 console.
Connects to PlayStation®2s AV MULTI OUT connector, enabling output audio and video signals and power using the USB connector.
Component input (Y, Cb, Cr) with high resolution and strong colour reproduction, producing a higher image quality than the S VIDEO input.
Equivalent to a 52-inch screen viewed from 2 metres
2 TFT Liquid Crystal Displays with 180.000 pixel each
30° horizontal, 23° vertical Equivalent to a 52" (1,30 m) screen at a distance of 2 m
Integrated Stereo Earphones with Bass Boost
Video/Audio Input: exclusive Multi AV connector for PlayStation 2
USB connector (Rated 5 V)
2 W Power Consumption

Is there a place where we can go and actually try one of these bad boys out?

Yea they do sound pretty cool.
The next step for something like this is that you must look differnent directions and angles to see things. I\'m just thinking of something like Silent Hill3 being like that. I mean wouldn\'t that be the ultimate experience?

Those were already out in Japan when I was there last year in june.

I haven\'t tried any, but this store there had them but the PS2 wasn\'t on so you couldn\'t see anything.

The next step for the PS3 should be dual image output where the PS3 outputs 2 seperate screens (one for each eye)
Two camera angles for 3-D gaming.  It shouldn\'t be too hard to do. Just use parallel in-game cameras and each one is for a side of the glasses.

Anyone else agree???

I\'ll be surprised if the next gen consoles don\'t start supporting stereographic presentation, just like you want juslight.  They should have more than enough power to render two images at a time, and it would truly be an easy way to make games unbelievable.  Really well done stereographic 3D stuff just rox yer sox off.
