Great news for Xbox?!?

Firstly, we do\'t know what the sales are.

Secondly, Capcom is still supporting N exclusively with RE.

Thirdly, if there is an exclusive company for xbox that company got a big check from MS and it makes userbase considerations almost irrelavent.

Fourthly, if no companies made games, no consoles would get sold.  Devs aren\'t going to abandon ship after the first week of sales.
Language services three functions. The first is to
communicate ideas. The second is to conceal ideas. The
third is to conceal the absence of ideas.

>Firstly - true, but the average amount of games per XBox sold are 1.59 (or something to that effect) hell, thats worse than the PS2 was :)

>Thirdly - thats not the point he was making.. he said they would show interest, this is not what is meant when a developer "shows interest" in XBox

>Fourthly - That\'s why i said if sales keep going the way they are..

Hey Bob...congrats on the mod thing and such...

Quote
i think he had a point.. for ages XBox fans (and other people too) have been hyped up by what they believe is going to happen, only to be disappointed

What exactly are you talking about?  Some come away to be overwhelmed...we can\'t prove that it\'s BS, so why argue it??

And for the nature of the thread, to bring some news in that has no argumentive substance, he doesn\'t have a point. :p

Quote
same thing for fans of all consoles, just so happens that this time it was in respect to XBox, leave him alone or you\'ll be facing da ***** slapping from da Bobby Hardware

News is news no matter what...I agree.  BUT, what I posted had no refutable facts.  What is the arguements\' ground base?  He\'s just speculating, there\'s really not much more to do.

Quote
but with Japan\'s recent XBox console sales, and probably more importantly games sales makes me wonder why you think this.. just curious my friend

MS has money, they also have a powerful console that I assume would be great to work on and better bring to life a developers vision and what not.  A killer app from a very respected, reknown, and a key element to the success of another platform would no doubt sell systems.

Quote
I\'m more curious on who the "very respected" developer is (I\'d imagine Capcom if not anyone else), but after these initial Japanese sales, I guess we will all have to "wait and see" just like with E3... ECTS... TGS... etc etc etc

It\'s not Capcom or Konami, he had already visited them before this...

Yeah, and the PS2 was a second generation console...Xbox still has to prove itself, just like the PS had to do.  It took a year to get off the ground but look what the end result was...

Where was it said they showed interest??? Did I miss something...

well i guess ill just sit here and twiddle my thumbs until that happens.. and we can hope and pray it helps MS sell systems so they can get the developers backing they need..

but then again.. sega had a few killer apps of their own didnt they  ;)

GAH!  I HAD FINISHED EDITTING AND MY POST SCREWED UP SO ILL CUT IT SHORT!

PS2 was extremely lucky to come into a shaky market where the leaders screwed themselves over BIG TIME, Microsoft are not so lucky to come into a market where Sony is a CLEAR leader with much more backing and user base than Sega and Ninteno did during the 32/64 bit generation.

god damn, i forgot what i said last time!  grr

Oh yeah, nothing wrong with it except there can never be a right answer which makes the arguement pointless.

They aren\'t rumors, I just posted what I read.  Nothing more, nothing less.  What I gather from the interview...

MS just pulled in a very big development team that is working on a game that I should get excited about.  Where did I speculate?

It\'s a pretty plain and simple post.  There was never anything to debate...

There is still time for screw ups and someone else to get the upper hand.  I have much a guess as to what might happen....

I thought you were referring to something I posted...

buh, it was more to do with how much they were hyping up the game that came into dispute (at least from what i was paying attention to).. if a company is hyping up their game, and someone thinks that it is right to be critical of what they are saying about it.. i gots no beef :)

for example something like..
>"our game will be the best ever, we have 100,000,000,020,000,007 polygons displayed on screen at once with unparalleled textures running at 60fps with NO slowdown at anypoint.  Its gameplay will revolutionise the industry and will feature more interaction with the environment than ever before as well as realistic AI and the most advanced fighting system ever allowing new users to be good, but advanced users to be great"

*developer goes on to release Army Men*

could come into dispute.. sure its a little less severe than that.. but..eh im sure you understand

Take it as you will...;)

What\'s the point in arguing what you think will be the outcome of this news?  We can\'t prove anything, whether it be good or bad, lie or truth...there was never anything to debate.

Thats a good one. Just imagine if japanese people were as big as mites the xbox could pass for hotel. Really now....lets put a 8 gig harddrive dvd playback in the gamecube or the deadcast and see how big they could be. Size jokes are for the biased. Its all about  the gaming anyway.

...or put a 40 GB harddrive in a PS2 and it\'s still the same size! :p Of course it\'s all about the games, but a little bit smaller (Xbox) would have been nice. ;)
