Timesplitters 2 on gamecube
« on: March 23, 2002, 07:58:11 AM »
March 22, 2002 - Nintendo announced today, via a Game Developers Conference press-packet, that the Free Radical Design-developed first-person shooter TimeSplitters 2 is coming to GameCube. The title, to be published by Eidos Interactive, is scheduled to arrive right alongside the PlayStation 2 release in the third quarter of this year.
Time Splitters 2 pits players in fast and furious first-person mayhem, offering them an arsenal of unique weapons and ambient 3D environments to battle in. One of the first demo levels shown for the PS2 version of the title closely mimics the dam stage from the N64 shooter GoldenEye -- a fact that seems all the more relevant given that ex-GoldenEye members are behind TimeSplitters 2.

"With TimeSplitters, we were just finding out feet," said David Doak, managing director of Free Radical Design. "Now we can go to town and show people what we\'re really capable of doing. TimeSplitters 2 will be an exceptional game."

Eidos is expected to officially announce the GCN version of TimeSplitters 2 shortly. You can learn more about the PS2 version of the game by clicking here.

I wouldn\'t rule out an Xbox version yet...it\'s been on quite a few release list.

...waits for official announcements.

Timesplitters 2 is looking good.. much better than the rushed TS1 that came out at the PS2\'s launch.

TS2 reminds me of GoldenEye, down to the sound libraries Free Radical is using.. and that\'s only a good thing.

Here\'s hoping that TS2 is the true sequel to GoldenEye.. IMO, Perfect Dark was a disappointment outside of multiplayer. And like I said before, Free Radical didn\'t get enough development time in on the original Timesplitters.

you wont be running so fast (or gracefully for that matter) with that big ol\' thumb up your ass  :p

and Blade, the first one was obviously rushed, but people didnt like it because they thought it was meant to be a Goldeneye killer.. when in actually fact it a was PURE deathmatch game, with a hella fun co-op, and story mode to unlock secrets

with this they actually tried to do what the people wanted, and make a goldeneye-esque single player and retain the originals style of gameplay

so expect GoldenEye, only FASTER really  :)

plus the solid 60fps, upgraded graphics, better weapons, better everything basically, the game is sure to rock, and sure to make its way into my collection

Halo couldn\'t run on PS2:D ...PS2 can only do good frame-rate with low-res textures!:p

I\'ll get the best version...

wait? why? DOA3 has great textures and everything is smooth at 60 fps...so PG does...have you seen Brute Force and Project Ego?
(yes...these are not FPS but damn...Halo is a launch game and it has been Game of the year...please...)

Can you elaborate?:)

Yeah GRAPHICS make not the great game !

HALO .. nice GRAPHICS  but the frame rate makes you want to lose your lunch 30 FPS ? more like 15 in some places

Project Gotham ..........nice GRAPHICS  but the cars feal like they are on rails ! not a patch on Gran Turismos handeling !

DOA3........Button bashing newbie heaven ! oh look i just pulled of yet another super combo move buy just droping the controler

PROJECT EGO ! (still VAPOR WARE) just pictures ,but i do admit i am a RPG Whore and wound think of buying a X box if the price is right .. but hey thats just the one game ! then again its just the one game that intrests me and i am NOT buying a new console just for one game !
