I believe these games are going to be re-made for the Xbox, they are not going to take an existing game and port it, they are going to completely re-make a new version of the game for the Xbox taking advantage of the Xbox\'s features.

Why would you call this a bad business decision? They are going to make games for what is fast becoming a very popular gaming console. Sounds like money in the bank to me. I don\'t think that the Xbox will be the number one selling console, but I do think it is going to be around for a long time. So re-doing some great old games for the system makes good sense.

Where have you seen sales figures for all territories?

Honestly, I could care less about what Saturn.. and expecially Dreamcast games are being remade on the Xbox. Those can BE graphically enhanced without changing the gameplay.. but it\'s those Genesis games that are being remade which interest me. Updating those into 3d would be like creating whole new games.. it\'s impossible to upgrade those into 3D without changing the core gameplay. If they are going to stay 2D with just a ton more pixels & effects added in.. then -depending on how many titles are released- the Xbox is set up to be THE 2D gaming machine for this generation.

Unfortunately, I\'m a stickler for Nostalgia.. and I already have most of the great Sega genesis games on Genny or my PC\'s emulator, so I\'m not particularly moved to buy a Xbox because of this. Still, it\'s good news to those who like good 2D games and like enhancements.

And to whoever said that Sega is loosing their "Originality and Innovation" by making this move.. well.. just remember that Sega isn\'t programming these games.. they\'re licencing them out to a company (Coolnet) for a few extra bucks on the royalties they\'ll garner. New and innovative games will still come out of Sega\'s dev teams once they get through porting all their Dreamcast games to other consoles (Cough *Ecco* *JGRF* *Seaman* Ect Cough*)

Besides, everyone else does it.. and most everyone else makes bucketloads of cash doing so. As long as they keep producing a steady stream of original titles as well, I don\'t mind sequels and re-releases of old games. Dosen\'t Sega deserve to make bucketloads of cash too? When in Rome...

It amazes me, when Sega ports something or what not, everyone is all up in arms about how they are "losing their innovation", yet if EA throws out YET ANOTHER damn sports game, it makes it way up on the charts for the year, not to mention gets praise from every  fanboy.

I will agree it seems as though Sega lost some touch since they left the DC, but it isn\'t *that* big of a deal. Rez was awesome, NFL2K2 is awesome, JSRF was dissapointing and GV is actually a pretty good game if you get used to the control (it takes time, trust me).

In my opinion, it\'s a great move for Sega.

There\'s been quite a bit of debate about that. The best comprimise I come to is to call it Jet Grind Radio v 1.5. From all that I\'ve heard here, at XboxWeb, and GameFaqs forums, it\'s the same basic game with more characters, more missions, more art, and one large continuous world instead of a mission map. Really, they\'re doing the same thing with PSO for the Xbox and GameCube. Sure it\'ll have more of everything.. but it\'s still PSO no matter how many tweaks and updates they toss in.

I guess VF4 is a port of VF3 with a couple new characters and updated graphics. :rolleyes:
