From all you heard...you haven\'t even played the game.  You shouldn\'t be arguing about it.

it\'s the same basic game with more characters, more missions, more art, and one large continuous world instead of a mission map.

It has all new levels, a new premise, new grind system, different story, and new enemies.  It\'s sequel, not a port.

From all that I\'ve heard here, at XboxWeb, and GameFaqs forums, it\'s the same basic game with more characters, more missions, more art, and one large continuous world instead of a mission map. Really, they\'re doing the same thing with PSO for the Xbox and GameCube. Sure it\'ll have more of everything.. but it\'s still PSO no matter how many tweaks and updates they toss in.

The game is a sequel.  It has new characters, new levels, new grind techniques, and a new tagging system.

That would be like saying Twisted Metal Black is Twisted Metal 2...I\'m sure you understand now.

Added from what?  Nothing was brought over from the original except the visual style...

Well actually Data, yeah, that\'s pretty much right. You could very easily see it that way. It\'s part of the reason why I don\'t get into fighters too much... expecially the StreetFighter II series. To much same-ole, same-ole.

I own it also...and it\'s quite obvious it\'s not a port.  That\'s what was being argued.  It is a sequel, you being a sony fan should know what those are all to well.

Calling JSRF a port of JGR is like saying FFX is FF7...

It\'s not a port at all.  You tell me what was brought over from the first game besides the characters...

JSRF is to Jet Grind Radio as FFX is to FF7.

Both have the basically the same premise but in decidely different worlds with tweaked/slightly different gameplay.
Please tell me you understand this...

No its not. Lets say for a moment that JSRF is a *sequal* to JGR. FFX and FF7 have nothing to do with eachother. The series is not a group of sequals. Your saying JGRF is a sequal to JGR.
And from what Ive heard from everyone except you its a port. I dont even know how you can even compare FF7 to ANy other RPG it has better graphics and is just an awsome game.....(well not better graphics but if it did /me drools.) :nerd:
1.FF7
  2. Grandia
  3. MGS
Is it me? Or does PSone own all the other systems?

the xbox version is no graphically better than the DC version.
IN FACT, the xbox version suffers from MAJOR glitches which the DC version did not.  go into a corner, swting the camera around and WOW, you got xray vision!  just another little xbox feature i guess

next, youll tell me tony hawk 2x isnt a port from tony hawk 2

Wow mm,.. I am shocked beyond words right now if you believe that is true.

Once I return from work I\'ll reply to that.

Cloud, and everyone else who thinks it\'s a port. I don\'t think you guys know what a port is. A port is a carbon copy of the same game. Jet Set Radio Future is not Jet Grind Radio. It might not be the sequel you expected, but it is not a straight port of JGR.

noone is saying that it is a stright port, but it does not merit saying its anything original in any way shape or form

indeed, i see no graphical improvement over the DC version
JGR for DC was a  game almost built to perfection, but one thing limited it, monotony.  at that my friend, was carried over to JGRF as well.

mm, by that definition, 90% of sequels are ports.  Everything is new, except the characters.  And put in JGR now and take a good look.  Even disregarding the size of the levels, there is a lot more going on.  The graphics are tremendously better.

come on now, sequals ports?

the portbox is doing what N64 did at the begining of its course.  acquiring games and adding little for repaying for the game.

silent hill 2, onimusha, JGRF, tony hawk 2x, etc. etc.

i do play JGR, i prefer it to JGRF
professor x is hella annoying in JGRF
plus DC controller > xbox controller

we\'re going in a circle here
i say JGRF is a port, you say it isnt

And all I\'m saying is that JSRF is not in the same category as silent hill 2, onimusha, or tony hawk 2x.
