Both my parents smoke. In the 20 years I lived with them I haven\'t had any noticeable sideeffects of their smoking - but perhaps I was just lucky, dunno. Anyways I don\'t take it all that seriously. They can decide for themselves if they want to smoke. And if second hand smoking will kill me some 5 years before I normally would, then what... it\'s not like I knew I would live to be 95 instead of just 90. Life it short, and believe me, there are worse things out there than cigarettes.

1BG, chewing gum is nothing like smoking a cigarette. Actually, you can smoke and chew gum at the same time.. so why don\'t I just do that? :rolleyes: That was weak man.. you can do better than that. Is it so hard to believe that some people actually like smoking? Some people like the feeling of warm smoke filling their lungs, the taste and flavor, and calming of nerves durring or after a strenious activity?

So anyhow, what kinda gum do you recommend 1BG? Gotta have sugar free, cause the good stuff rots your teeth.. and my teeth are about as weak as they get due to all the speeders I used to take and bad genes. *Picks up a pack of Extra SugarFree gum and looks at it* OOohhhh what\'s this? It contains Sacrin as a sugar substitute.... may cause cancer in some cases.

Actually I would say I\'m better in some ways.  Like the fact that I am in better shape.  Also remember that I never said I was better than any smoker, I just said its very ignorant to smoke.  But like Sonyfan said its your choice.  Its just a shame that innocent people get sick from all the second hand smoke.

you dont know that for a fact. For example, do you have any idea how many pro athletes smoke and still compete with the best of them with little to no problem keeping up.

I\'m sure a lot of pro athletes smoke a pack a day.:rolleyes:  And just because they are able to preform well in a certain sport doesn\'t mean they are actually in great shape.  They could just be built right but not be in so great shape.

anyway, I accept there are plenty worse things than smoking, but it is in no way shape or form, a good thing.  On another note, that feeling of smoke filling your lungs is the deterioration of your lungs, so more or less a poison.  None the less, it\'s each person\'s decision whether or not they do it, I\'m not here to judge anyone.  However, doesn\'t the foul stench it leaves behind bother you?

Anyway, if you do want to try to stop, if your strong enough that is, there\'s nicorete(sp?), and I believe they make patches as well.
