Also, why only mention those things?  There are many forms of government envolvement that conservatives support in general, and liberals don\'t.

Usually republicans will support state\'s rights and individual\'s rights whereas democrats will prefer federal regulations.

While that doesn\'t describe everyone exactly it\'s a pretty good generalization.

I\'m sorry, but to me why would you want affirmative action, what its basically saying is that you yourself as a minority are not capable of going out into the world and succeeding in work or school without the governments help, which to me seems like a slap in the face.

Because sadly, in some places, minorities are still descriminated against in a way that would make it harder for them to get jobs, etc.  This is an attempt to regulate that.
