PS2 online cable modem connection
« on: July 07, 2002, 05:00:24 PM »
For all of you kiddies who dont know how to set this thing up online, here goes.

You take the network adaptor and plug it into the front of your PS2, now take your ethernet cable that runs from your cable modem to your computer out of the computer. (it looks like an oversized phone cable)  Then plus that line into the network adaptor and your set to rock and or roll...

I assume you are just talking about a non-sony connector that you purchased from a store?

Otherwise Im sure we could have found that on the instructions it would have come with.....if it was even released yet...

Can anyone tell me where I can get a network adapter and a hub (to connect to both PS2 and PC) online. My PS2 is a PAL. Will I have to get a PAL adapter or will any adapter work fine?

Right. It used that 80 pin connector. There was a connection for the HDD (4 pin power) but there was no HDD.

Question? If you use a router will it slow down the connection in any way, lets say if I\'m using internet on my pc as well as playing PS2 online?
