Ok... Just computer problems in general.. *sigh*
« on: July 13, 2002, 10:25:54 PM »
Well I was away from vacation and the PC that I use is basically a family PC and I get back and its all bugged up.....

For one thing, every time Windows finishes loading an "Illegal Operation" message box pops up regarding Outlook, and after I click OK on that another message box says that there was an error starting a program because a certain file is missing.

And also, my god damn home page keeps changing. I\'ve used ad-aware thrice now and I\'m stuck.

1. I live in a cave.. we don\'t even have windows.

2. It is a .dll file, and I\'ll try that later.

hehe, thats par for the course for my computer.

Have you tried reinstalling outlook?

for the missing file: Does it specify which file is missing?...if so try to find it on the net if its a .dll file or such.

If it doesnt specify the file name, does it tell you which program isnt loading because of the missing file?.....if so try reinstalling that program.

And the changin home page problem sounds like a virus i once had.  If i tried to change my home page it would always change back to the other page and try to make me download something.

1. It does specify, its like 300043053.dll

2. Doesn\'t tell me for which program.

3. Know a good virus scanner that could help? I have some old school McAfee piece of shit that came with Win98.

when the error comes up, write down the exact dll file. then type it in verbatum into google, and you\'ll be set.

You could always "pruchase" Norton or something, but then you might get another virus...

Yes... I\'m done with the .dll problem... Tomorrow i\'ll try and tackle the outlook and homepage problem... The main bugger is that damn home page one.
