My computer\'s been doing some weird stuff too.  I\'m running Windows ME (hell, that right there might be half of the problem).  Every time I start the computer up, the thing runs scan disk, saying the computer was shut down inproperly, no matter how I shut it down.  It even does that if I just have the thing restart.  It also randomly doesn\'t register my connection to the internet sometimes when I start up.  I have to restart when that happens, until it registers the connection.  Any idea what any of that is about?

First of all, the homepage thing is not an OS bug, it\'s something that another program forced you to install when you installed.  Lots of people on the net tend to just hit next half a billion times on install not examining what it is that is being installed.  Chances are, you installed a nice piece of spyware and all these changes are being forced upon you.  lop.com is but one example.  There\'s a stupid program that lets you run a monkey or something on your comp that also does that.  Just use programs that scan your harddrive for spyware and such to get rid of the problem.  That will fix it.  If it redirects you to lop.com, there are numerous fixes for that on the Internet.

Ok... The .DLL is still a problem, however the homepage thing is not. I removed the final piece of spyware that was doing it.

To be honest, I\'m think its a virus. My sis says after downloading a song off Kazaa all her songs turned into VBScriptFiles. I really need a good virus scanner here, anyone can hook me up?

And the .dll file is WTSAPI32.DLL . I punched it into google and found a place where I can download it but I don\'t know what program to open it with. Help!

...Holy shitballs....

Ok, so I\'m on the forums just a second ago and that one banner "Your computer may be infected!" came up, so I just said, what the hell and clicked it. I downloaded the Defender Virus Scanner, and now its scanning....

TONS OF VIRUSES! Called VBS.LoveLetter, all from Kazaa! I\'m shitting my pants here folks.

The only thing you can do is download new virus software to protect your machine and clean it out.  Norton, MacAfee, any of those will do it just fine.  Love Letter is an older virus so there should be a fix for it.

Well its scanning (So far 130 infected files....), and under Scan Result it says "Non Cleanable" . I\'m refering to the site movingstereo got me.

I have an old version of McAfee, but its so old it doesn\'t even notice the virus. Any links for a top notch (free) one?

I hate to say this seeing as how this is where the problem originated, but KaZaA Lite just might be the answer to your question.  :shy:
