Blackhawk down was jus watching "elite" American soldiers getting slaughtered.

cuz it was based on the events of 1993 october 3rd.....and that is what happened

Maybe so, but they did fudge quite a few facts to make it more dramatic onscreen. All film makers do it, and that\'s the difference between a "based on true events film" and a "Documentary". My point is, that while they were fudging facts, they should have added something in to tell the importance of why they were there.. how they grew from the experience.. each man\'s persepective on what it meant to them. Give the viewers something more than jus buckets of spilled American blood. It was just a slasher flick based around a real conflict from where I see it.

And even ignoring that.. I still don\'t see how it could make someone cry.

EDIT: Speaking of documentaries, there is one film that made me get a bit teary eyed. It was the 9/11 film on ABC.. filmed live as the attacks happened by those two french filmmakers. That was truely disturbing.

Wait, unless you cried because the movie was that horrible....

Mac and Me - 1988.  Saw it at the theater with my parents.  I don\'t remember much about it, except there were funny looking aliens - and I cried.  My father was sensitive enough to ask me later that day if he was correct in noticing that I had been crying.  What a guy.

Dracula - Coppola version.  This came out in 1992, so I\'m not gonna use any of the damn spoiler tags.  I\'ve seen this movie at least a dozen times, and the end where Mina shoves the blade through her dying lover\'s heart still gets me.

Saving Private Ryan.

Green Mile didn\'t make me teary for some reason.  I had read the books when they first came out, so I guess I was expecting a lot of tear-jerking.  I\'m also one of those people who doesn\'t appreciate being manipulated into crying by the director (Steel Magnolia\'s, for one).
