Connected to servers run by Electronic Arts themselves, players can connect to each other via a matching service set up similarly to those of the Dreamcast\'s NFL 2K1.

I can\'t wait for PS2 to go online. Also, it\'s about friggin time. They kept pushing it back. Anyway, I\'ll buy the modem with the money I earned from work. hehe, I really can\'t wait. I\'ll definitley have the modem by the time TS2 comes out. When is Xbox and GCN going online?

So which add-on will sell better?

Xbox live? or PS2 online? (don\'t answer that)

I never really thought of it that way, but the modem in the xbox is useless cause you have to buy a addon to use it.. so its no differnt then having to buy the modem in the first place.

The people, nay, morons at TXB seem to think that Xbox Live will be out the 20th (this month), a week before the PS2.  It\'s funny, they say the beta test starts then, and yet they also say the full thing is launching then.  They said "at least MS will have Xbox Live out before Sony goes online, that\'s a plus." Something along those lines.

think about what forum yer mentioning

txb is the highpoint of online console ignorance

they have not even shipped the units out yet, and pS2 online started how long ago in japan?  we had members of this forum beta testing PS2 online 6 months ago

funny you have to buy another adaptor to play xbox online, when that was one of the last bit of ammo the zealots had

give this a read about the xbox beta test

If you\'re chosen to be on the Beta Team, you must purchase the Xbox Live Beta Starter Pack for $49.95 to participate. With the Beta Starter Pack, you get one year of Xbox Live\'s intense gaming service, Communicator headset and module, setup DVD, handy reference guide, Beta game(s), including the prerelease, online-only version of NFL™ Fever 2003, and more. To say thanks for playing and participating in the Beta, we\'re throwing in some additional high-speed game play, on us. So you\'ll play for nothing until the scheduled official launch in November 2002.

An online-only version of NFL™ Fever 2003 can be played exclusively during the Beta Testing period. Xbox Live is scheduled to be available in the U.S. in November 2002.

module?  lol

whoop-de-do! the beta testers can play NFL fever 2003!

Then again.. you DO have to pay extra to play NFL 2K1.. and really all Visual Concepts games. I jus wanted to bring that point up and mention that EA COULD charge you to use their servers at some point in the future if they think they\'re loosing money by keeping them free. (Or no making enough)

Also, GameCube goes online this fall/Early Winter when PSO Ep 1 & 2 arrives. It\'s only one game.. at least.. I haven\'t heard of any others going online so far... and really it\'s only because Sega PUSHED Nintnedo into releasing the modems and KB early to meet the launch date.

So far I still agree tho.. PS2 &/or NGC online > Xbox Live.
