Super Mario Sunshine impressions

Ummm...

This game kicks ass!  I can\'t believe I\'m into it as much as I am, but I haven\'t put it down since I got it home yesterday.  Keep in mind I have never touched Mario 64...

Graphics are colorful as all hell, I love the platforming challenge of it, and the game is quite simply just a blast to play.  This game is totally worth owning the Gamecube for, as far as I can tell.

Any thoughts out there on this game?

How similar is it to Mario64?  I have yet to play it, but to me it looks almost the same, gameplay wise, as Mario64.  Level design looks identical.

Besides that water gun thing of course...

IMO, it\'s better and worse than Mario 64 in different ways.

To be honest, though.. even just after I cracked open Halo and my new Xbox games.. Mario has been getting 100% of my console play-time. Flawless it is not, but it is still incredibly fun. Tough at times, but fun.

After gathering over 40 Shines in 15+ hours of gameplay.. I would rate this 95/100.

Does it keep track of your hours of gameplay on the game itself, or are you doing it yourself, Blade?

Nataku, as I said, I can\'t vouch for a comparison vs. Mario 64, I\'ve never touched it...but the water gun just works really well in this game.  Nintendo has a knack for dropping you into a cartoon and making it fun to play.  After probably 5 hours of play (which is a guess), I can\'t wait to go back to it...

The game is just addictive...while watching the intro I was thrown off by the "kiddiness" of it.  After bouncing off of my first rope, I was hooked.  This was while playing a Toys R Us demo.  I picked up Mario instead of Super Monkey Ball 2, which I anticipated very highly.

Buy this game.

I\'m guessing.. and I think I\'m way off.

I have 52 Shines now, and it\'s more like 30 hours. I just get lost looking for those Blue Coins while I have to brainstorm ways to get th\' harder Shines.. it\'s great. This game deserves the accolades it gets!

I rented it tonight, and about 2 hours into it.  So far I have 4 shines and like 12 blue coins.  Just beat the octopus guy.

Personally, I love the game.  I just got it last night, and have 35 shines and counting.  It has similarities to Mario 64, obviously, but it is very different in a lot of ways.  The controls on the water pack, as well as the different worlds what really have a different style to them, give this game a flavor of it\'s own.  I\'m really liking it though.  It has more story, more types of moves, and so far more challenge than Mario 64 did.

I got Onimusha 2 and can\'t be bothered to play Mario at the moment. I think I have close to 20 shines and lost interest in it already, so no big deal. I imagine I\'ll go back to Mario once I finish Onimusha 2.

Man! This game is awesome!  Just the right amount of difficulty and not too short and not too long with fun gameplay.
Bowser told Baby Bowswer a lie so he would do what ever he wanted. Duh. Unless Bowser raped Peach.
(answer to vivi\'s question)
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.
