You have GOT to be kidding.

As far as raw talent, manson isnt in the league of the top 10 rappers. Hell the two catagories cant really be compared. It would be like comparing a VW golf to a M3.

You think rap is all about talking fast? I see your rap/hiphop knowledge is limited to parappa tha rappa.

Take stabs at rap and gun violence all you want, but ask yourself which genre has more death and violence.

As for topic.

PC...UB40
Car...Erykah Badu
Stereo...Pink Floyd

Go to the store. Now look at the rap section. Almost every single one has a parental advisory sticker smack dab in the middle- basically summing it up; "your mom wouldnt want to listen to this". Now take a look in the rock section. You see an occasional Parental Advisory. Tell me Im wrong.

First- Ive never played the game. Second, thats all that rap is. I have yet to see a rap song where it isnt about sex, drugs, shooting, cars, bling bling, ho\'s, more cars, more drugs, and other shunned upon illegal activites, even the occasional fag bashing (eminem).

They sure are badass\'s though.

That\'s not what all rap is like... There are many rappers who have songs about other stuff.  Im not of a fan of either genre really *shrugs*
It was a darkness all my own, a song played on the radio, It went straight to my heart - I carried it with me - until the darkness was gone.

You could say that.

I think you missed my point by you even mentioning labels. My point still stands.

And to get back to your point, LOTS of *rock* has PA labels.

You should get out more.

Just b/c he has a few violent cuts means nothing. Try listening to what he has to say instead of his shock value tracks.

Yes Tupac..broaden your horizens if you think otherwise.

Try J5..Common..etc..etc..

There is a lot of Rap thats not about killing people and shit like that. Try Black eyed Peas, Busta Rhymes, even a lot of Wu-tang isnt really violent. Buddha Monk has a song thanking his mom for all the support she gave him, and the Geto Boys have an anti-abortion song.

The very fact that he complains about parental warnings on Rap cds and how Eminem has a song about killing his mother and then in the same breath talks about how talented Marilyn Manson is, is beyond stupid.

Marilyn Manson and Eminem are one in the same. They are "shock" music. Why else do you think they are best friends and have collabarted together? They must use music for shock value and shock value for their music. Don\'t get me wrong, I like some of Manson\'s stuff (anything pre-Mechinal Animals). I also like some of Eminem\'s stuff.

You need to think outside of the box. You\'re under the notion that all rap is about killing stuff and hate and you\'re wrong. There is a lot of rap that is about that, but there is a lot of rock music about it also.

Next time you want to argue music , please bring up a decent point. You did not bring one up. You complain about parental warnings on rap cd\'s? You got them on rock cds (the very rock you like, for the most part). You complain about Eminem and shock. What is Manson? He is "shock rock".

LOL i think that\'s a whole other debate. Anyway, I didn\'t hear
it as of yet and the fact they did this doesn\'t make their whole
ouvre nor their general contribution to music, bad. Fact still
stands they don\'t make mtv music video\'s bragging about money,
b1tches and stuff, like the rappers that generalize the genre.
Don\'t get upset with \'em just they have another opinion on
the Iraq war than you. They\'re just quality hiphop artists with
at least a positive message. And don\'t forget Mix Master Mike\'s
awesome turntable stuff  :fro:
