Enter The Matrix - What A Game!
« on: May 15, 2003, 02:10:25 AM »
I\'ve just got Enter The Matrix for PS2 yesterday and I\'ve been playing it thoroughly and I gotta say one thing - WOW!
Larry and Andy Wachowski have really worked hard on this game and it shows right from the moment you boot up your machine right up to the moment you snap a guys neck or wall kick a SWAT team member.

The Focus bar as you all know, slows time down and enables you to dodge bullets, run faster, jump higher and makes the moves look even cooler!

I\'m currently halfway through this game as Niobe.
Enter The Matrix is massive!

You have to own this game cause you\'d have to be insane not to.
The only criticism is that it can get repetitive, but you forget that cause no matter how much you see the moves, they are still cooler than a polar bear on an iceberg in the north pole.
I haven\'t piloted the Nebucadezzar yet but I have been on one driving mission and it\'s very remenisent of Driver and the driving missions on Agent Under Fire and Nightfire.

The Hacking system looks great, and it can get tedious, but underneath all the glamour it\'s just a fancy cheat system.
although I haven\'t found out how to unlock the new moves yet.

The different weapons are great as they are great when used in different situations or some are better used in certain places than others.

The start of the game sees you being introduced to the games main Characters Niobe, Ghost and Sparks (Niobe and Ghost\'s technician) then as you progress further you meet new characters like "The Key" and Persephone etc

Overall this game has a great soundtrack, a fantastic control system which is easy to use, although you can get confused when in a difficult situation.

I\'d give it 9/10 because although it\'s a game that everybody should own,it has it\'s niggles here and there but you don\'t care cause it\'s just so cool and fun to play.

Graphics 10/10
Sound 9/10
Longevity 9/10
Gameplay 9/10
Coolness factor (hey it\'s The Matrix remember?) 10/10
Overall - 90%

well you were cause it syncs in with The Matrix Reloaded.

but I know what you mean. The thing is,because The Matrix is such a cool movie and a great licence, the video game had to live up to fans of the movies expectations and voila!here we have an ass kicking, bullet dodging, neck breaking game which looks and plays great.

Shame you couldn\'t be Neo or Trinity though.

Ditto. I really love the story behind all of it and it just gets deeper. I really thought i was going to be let down by reloaded but i was in awe towards the end. Seeing the movie made me want the game even more and it seems that the game was taken quite seriously from what i have heard, wich is great. It is true that the matrix has tons of CG etc. but the actors really had to do some training. I do enjoy the CG but i dont need it to like it.

the Matrix parts look superb (i was supprised at the speed and Frame rate of it)
Driving sections look like a cheap version of Driver... might be good though.
And the Nebucadezzar sections look like a cheap version of the death star escape in Rouge Squadron 2 for the Nintendo Game Cube… but without the excitement or flash graphics.

in short the non matrix parts are just to brake up the game a little and should effect the over all score of the game.

but still the chance to play the matrix part might make this a good buy, Esp the drop kicking a swat member and grabbing his shotgun and then blasting him with it ability looks nice.

Strange i am far more excited at the thought of playing the game than watching the film... i must be odd :(.

I just got the game today and it is not bad at all. Just got to drive the car for the first time. Bullet time is good when you bounce off walls while kicking someones head in. :D

Yes i think you are quite odd. ;). A friend of mine got the game today and hes not going to let me crack it open to play till he sees the movie. We are going to see it tonight and play the game after. This will be my second time seeing it but it should still be great.
