Yes indeed. Dodge needs to add more structural rigidity. Subaru makes all their cars ready for world rallying. Even the Legacy but especially the Impreza. Thus the slightly bruised crash dummy. Though the last pic does concern me. I might add a cushion there.

I know which one I\'d want to be in. Subies and Mitsu\'s have got some of the best safety results.

Neons are smaller then Impreza\'s though.

is it fair to compare a 2002 impreza with a  2000 neon?
i would think that the new neons would have better safety measures.

Don\'t count on it. :p The article states that it\'s 2000-2003 Neon. Apparently there was no improvement.

Oh...and I made a mistake. That\'s not a WRX. It\'s naturaly aspirated Impreza. They, too, get the same hard shell as the WRX.

I\'m pretty sure the 2k WRX has side airbags but doesn\'t look like they went off in that pic.

I made a mistake and thought it was a WRX. That\'s a regular 2.5 Impreza TS.

More than likely though you\'d rather be driving the Neon because in the Impreza you\'d probably be driving faster. ;)

Why do they do these tests?

Its basically likle saying- yeah, its okay if your crash, you\'ll probably survive.


Its interesting really though, seeing how little imporvements can save you from having your brain turned into soup.

I odnt know why they would be compared in the first place.

Anywho..that may be a 2000 neon as I know for a fact that 2001\'s+ have side impact airbags.

Another thing about crashes in neons. My first one held up pretty good when I was run off the road at 40 mph into a concrete wall head on. I walked away only with a slightly hurt head and chest(probably the airbags) and shaken for  20 secs.
