The Passion

Anyone of you movie illiterates ever heard of Mel Gibson\'s "The Passion"? It\'s about Jesus Christ... I\'m not a religious man, but I\'d watch anything Mel Gibson directs. And this does look awesome indeed.

Here\'s the trailer.

I do not believe in Naboo, queen Amidala or other creatures and like Star Wars. Just like another fiction movie...

Just because one does not believe the story/plot/whatever, doesn\'t mean one can\'t see the movie.

I mean, you probably watched Star Wars anyway, right? :)

Anyway, I\'d watch crap on a stick if it was directed by Mel Gibson. :p

Besides, it never hurts to broaden your horisont a little (or preferably a lot).

*downloading*

Mel took a plunge on my "fav actors list" after that POC "We Were Soldiers"..

EDIT: That looked pretty good :)
Romans are kewl (even though they liked little boys ;) ), but why did Jesus have all that red paint over him? :(
Oh and I thought they nailed him to the cross via his wrists, not hands?

That\'s an important failure, he was suposed to be nailed in the wrists... hands could not bear the weight of the body.

Well, there are different schools of thought regarding that. Some scientist found that it was possible to be nailed through the palm on some types of wood (? - can\'t really remember the reason :p).

Besides, he was held/bound to the cross by the wrists in the trailer.

It\'s not the type of wood what avoids one person to be nailed via his hands, but the phisical constitution of human hands, full of small bones that would crack in few seconds.

I know, but still... some say it IS actually possible under some circumstances.

Still doesn\'t change the fact that he was held to the cross by the wrists in the trailer. :)

The matter is that I can\'t see the trailer because it\'s *.mov, and my computer doesn\'t like quicktime... it always freezes,  dunno why. There is any other format to download? mpg perhaps?

BTW, this movie has been already shown, or isn\'t it finished yet?

About the hands thing... I was in a church service accouple of years ago and this was actually being discussed. There are some people with the belief that he was nailed through the hands, and that he actually had to support himself up. It says in the Bible about how Jesus had to strain so hard to stay up-right on the cross, in other words, he wasn\'t just hanging there, he was literally trying to support his own weight.

IMO, Jesus is THE central key figure in Christianity and the belief in an almighty God. Other then the Bible, there are countless other primary sources that tell of the same happenings as in the Bible, including the rolling away of the tomb, and his accent into heaven.

Mel Gibson is a legend. If its anything like Braveheart then its going to be good. The ironic thing is that Gibson is Catholic...

You\'re the only one that call me by my name :D

If this film is half the good than Braveheart, i\'ll definitely go to the cinema to see a Jesus movie.
