Arnie is running for GOVT!!!

How\'s Arnie going to pay for all his pie in the sky programs? It seems the things he wants to do is the reason CA is in the pickle that it\'s in.

Like I said, I don\'t think Arnold is the best candidate that will solve the 38 billion dollar deficit. He is too liberal in certain areas, like the fact that he supports many social programs. However, the other thing I hear, he wants to bring back business. If he is serious about this, that would mean making improving California\'s business climate. Creating jobs, more revenue...this all sounds good.

I still maintained, he would be a HUGE improvement over Davis and, I might go as far as say, would help save the state from oblivion.

The arguement could be, that he wants to bring back the business to fund all these social programs. Better this, then having a ton of social programs with no business to fund them. Until the day a TRUE conservative can be elected (i.e. Tom McClintock [who almost won the Controller seat in the last election. He was the closest Republican to win in the last election. But he has little chance in this recall election to become governor) Arnold would still be a move in the right direction.

Well I\'m not too much with the extreme right wing of the party (i.e. the social conservatives). But my views are what you may call "true conservatives" values. Pro-life, pro-gun, anti-big government. Now unlike some of the diehards, I know a true conservative would probably not win this state anytime soon. I just feel, a "true conservative" (i.e. Tom McClintock) would be better then Arnold when it comes to politics.

Note, when I say a "true conservative", I\'m not talking about Bush and company. Bush is, if anything, a moderate. Right of center political oppurtunist. Now, he is too far to the right of many liberals granted, but not a "true conservative" either.

Not saying that I won\'t support Arnold. He would be a VAST improvement over Davis. And I would be more then happy being governed by Arnold. Just that, I would support Tom McClintock first before I support Arnold.

P.S. Ironically, you will meet a lot of those "true conservatives" in Nevada who have all left due to Democratic mismangement in this state.

I want it to be known that I am very good friends with Angelyne.  Yes, I\'ve seen her on several occasions, and she even waved to me from her pink C4 Vette.  I pretended not to notice.  :(

PS That is a TRUE story.  :)

In an online vote, I think cnn did it, Arnold won with %25 of the vote.  Cruz Bustamante came in second with 15 percent and numerous others with 5-7 percent.

Not that it means anything, just interesting.

Arnold is definitely winning. Some are saying it is even "his" election to lose here. However, 56 (or is it 55? 54?) days is still enough time for the Davis slime machine to get into action. Arnold better be ready with the onslaught of one of the meanest and disgusting negative campaigns waged by the Davis and Company (known for being one of the dirtiest politicans ever when it comes to campaigning). Now, Davis himself might not win (gallop had him losing like 67%. Big number to over come in the next 2 months or so. But the hope is, Cruz "I\'m not a racist even though I used the \'n\' word in front of a group of black people in Oakland" Bustamonte could get a boast if Arnold can\'t respond to Davis and Company).

I Can\'t wait for the televised debate with Arnold, imagine the fights between the candidates.

Opposing candidate “ How can you vote for a man that is known for walking around like a cyborg , shooting people with a Anti Tank Gun and saying ‘AssssHooollllleeeeee’ in a Austrian accent”

Arnold “‘AssssHooollllleeeeee’ *he pulls out a Anti Tank Gun and starts blowing away the other candidates*”

Arnold “Are there anymore questions ? “

Probably won\'t have any debates, because there\'s 200 candidates, instead of the usuall 3-4

Yeah, no debates... yet another example of what a farce this entire process is.

The recall election will cost $66 million, most of which will be borne by county governments that have not budgeted for it.  Can\'t wait to find out what effect that will have.

Gray Davis has every right to mount a negative campaign.  Bitter nutcase conservatives are attempting to remove a legally elected officeholder simply because they disagree with him.  He has broken no laws.  Gee... I thought you were supposed to WAIT FOR THE NEXT ELECTION before trying to replace the Governor... oh was I wrong about that?  Hmmm my bad.

Welcome to the Banana Republic of California.
