Any Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie without Gunnar Hansen as Leatherface is not worth seeing IMO (The Icelander in me speaking)

But with him surpressed, I did enjoy the wackyness of the 2nd movie, I hated the fact that they made Leatherface a friggin retard in it instead of a cold hearted butcher, and the dance the lead character (that radio chick) did after killing Otis with the chainsaw was friggin priceless, still cracks me up.

I just got back from seeing the movie and I have to say that I liked it. I watched the special edition DVD of the original last night and it doesn\'t hold a candle to the original but on it\'s own I thought it was well done.

The thing that I didn\'t like about this movie is that they kind of made leatherface Jason like. It also didn\'t have the nervous humor of the original. I also missed the gritty look of the first film as well.

I saw the texas chainsaw massacre and it was awesome!  The movie was just so brutal!  Just when you think its bad enough, they pour salt on the wound, LITERALLY...

i\'m going to speculate...

good movies I\'ve seen recently...

Cabin Fever (YES, I thought it was the most innovative, very unorthodox)
School of Rock
Texas Chainsaw Massacre

incredibly bad movies...

Cold Creek Manor
House of the Dead

why would you even consider seeing house of the dead. Any movie with a DMX song in the preview is destined to be crap on a stick :)
It was a darkness all my own, a song played on the radio, It went straight to my heart - I carried it with me - until the darkness was gone.

Went to see Chainsaw and I must say I don\'t think I\'ve ever been that tense through a movie. I can say that it was very good at what it did, however I don\'t wish to ever see it again.

The house they fimled it at is 5 miles from my house.  Now every time I drive by it I\'ll get flash backs of the gruesome remake.

I do need to see the original, just to compare.

I finally watched it. I found it very predictable, and just not all that. It did manage to give me a headache though.

IMHO wrong turn which is now out on dvd does a better job, and that is not saying much. It is a mix between deliverance and TCM.

EDIT: I also saw the dawn trailer. I will watch it ok, but it looks as if they have messed with the Romero formula. Zombies appear to be more like those in 28 days later.

I wish Romero would get off his ass, and make another dead movie instead of stuff like Bruiser. He would make alot more money, and make the fans happy. Or I hope so atleast. Yes I do realize there is one in pre-production, but it is the least likely to get made of all Romero\'s projects. Anchor Bay has offered to fund this one. Heck I would not mind seeing DAY as Romero first wrote. The version we have is so stripped down it barely resembles the original script.

I have the feeling that Romero has lost his touch. That\'s just my gut feeling though. After you take a look at Romero\'s career, you boil it down to two movie\'s really "Night of the Living Dead" & "Day of the Dead". Anything else was either filler material or severely lacking (Martin almost counts as a decent flick).

Then you also have to face the fact that if Romero actually got to make his dream project, it would be a four hour epic, with massive sets and social commentary interweaved into the storyline. Who is goin\' to actually fund for such a project? I can\'t think of any company.

Here\'s hoping for \'Dead Reckoning\', but I won\'t hold my breath.

And on a somewhat un-related note, I need to borrow your \'Wrong Turn\' DVD this week, Capcom. I got four days off (finally), so I will have plenty of time to watch it.

It is here LIC. Feek free to stop by and get it. I will set a few others out for you also.

Also Romero could do a four hour zombie movie, and it would be fine with me. Romero deals more with the people in the situation. Then of course kill most of them at the end, but Day could have added another hour without alot of trouble. Versus will be one them. Very nice zombie flick from japan. I will also leave the eye out for you.
