I\'m a sucker for zombie movies.

The lady friend never saw "The Serpent and the Rainbow" so we rented it tonight.

TCSM: was so gay. It made sense. But I thought it was kind of corny. My girlfriend was horrified though.

I thought TCSM was the best horror "thriller" released since I was in 5th grade and thought Scream was scary.

It rocked, definately cheesy at points, but holy crap did I get a good jump at some parts.

I give it a B for keeping me entertained, but it dragged on just a lil bit longer than I wanted.

I mean was it "horror" yeah, TCSM was. But it\'s the kind that relies on grosing you out and having something pop out of nowhere in order to scare you. I don\'t find that scary at all after the first few jumps. Im more of the type that likes to get freaked out, not by seeing a girl take a gun out her kitty, but the type that makes you think, and by making you think, you scare yourself.......I hope that made sense...

Just got home from seeing it...

Not bad at all... certainly kept me entertained but it was quite disturbing at some points...

So... was the home video in the movie real?

Yeah.  Have you seen the original?  Because it is the type of movie that makes you think.

This sounds shit.

Darkness falls was based of a aussie woman. mm being a film buff probably knows this and pays respect were its due.

This movie is based on the story of Matilda Dixon who was the victim of a real witch-hunt in Port Fairy, Australia in 1841. Matilda\'s husband was a sailor aboard a whaling vessel that sank in 1836. They had no children. After his death, Matilda grew quite eccentric baking special cakes for children who\'d lost their teeth and was dubbed the tooth fairy by the town\'s people. In 1840, an oven fire horribly disfigured the woman forcing her to wear a porcelain mask and to hide indoors only emerging at night. Children who left their teeth wrapped in a handkerchief and tied to their front doors would awake to find a few coins. In 1841, two children who\'d told their parents that they were going to visit the tooth fairy went missing. The town all ready leery of the strange woman hung her only to find the missing children amongst the crowd. Matilda\'s death was ruled accidental asphyxiation and she was buried in an unmarked grave. In 1861, the cemetery was moved and her body lost so a plaque was erected to her memory. In 1951, it was vandalized by some youths who later went missing. In 1953, a new plaque was added to the monument and no has vanished since.

don\'t believe me go on google and do a search.

This movie was  a rip off on another movie. I can\'t remember the name sense it\'s been a long time sense i\'ve seen it. But pretty much everything was the same, expect they didn\'t use a tooth fairy myth...

This brief description of an early scene from Darkness Falls makes it sound like lots of scary movies. But, while it borrows heavily from previous films -- Elm Street\'s badly-burned-fiend and don\'t-go-to-sleep premises; the Blair Witch old-biddy vengeance plot; the unfounded blame for murder that haunts selected vics in the Candyman; the rather worn out Phantom-of-the-Opera-Halloween-hockey-mask monster look; They\'s "night terror" framework; the can\'t-go-in-the-light idea used much more effectively in The Others, as well as Pitch Black\'s stay-in-the-light-or-else business; the little-kid-accused-of-murder-and-sent-to-a-madhouse concept; even the exceedingly familiar spooky-lighthouse long shot, most recently used in The Ring -- Jonathan Liebesman\'s movie is uncommonly weak.

Yep, original

I saw the Texas Chainsaw Massacre last night and would have to say not seeing the first, that this was the scariest movie I\'ve seen in a long time, just my opinion though!!!

i noticed your lame mock attempt.. But it still doesn\'t change the fact, whether you believe it or not. Darkness falls = rip off from a lot of other movies... Originality is something that doesn\'t seem to fit movies anymore.

PS. It\'s not horror.. Try Suspense, and lame at that.
