2003: 22.3 million units (estimated)

I wonder how they come up with those estimates...

I can understand this year... and maybe even next year, but the 2006 sales?  Dependant on economy, technology, games.... not to mention the actual consoles available by then....

No surprise to see how sony has stacked up with sales thusfar.

yeah too dman right and to make matters worse i plan to give the x box the kiss of death buy buying a 2nd hand one when fable comes out.

As well as ps2 is doing and as awesome as the games are, you have to admit that XBox kicks our butt in the online department. They really had a comprehensive strategy that worked out nicely whereas ps2 leaves a lot to be desired. Oh well, the bottom line is we\'ve got the clear cut best games and decent enough online. Hopefully ps3 online will be better.

I am looking at the same thing... I wonder if Nintendo will ever be on top of the world as they used to be?  I suppose not but I hope they vever leave the industry.  I never bought the N64 because it didn\'t appeal to me (I hate using cartridges), but I bought the Gamecube and relized that they are the only ones, besides a few developers (Exp. Rockstar), that still make games for gameplay and not graphics.

Lemme get this straight....you\'re paying for your service provider already...then you gotta pay MS to play?

Anyone who says with a straight face that PS2\'s online strategy is better than Xbox Live is only fooling themselves.

Its the price of one game per year and the service is overall much better. There is really no contest when it comes to the online service.

Nothing\'s free.  Every clan server you join on a PC game costs about $75-$95 per month.

Problem you guys seem to dont understand is that Sony as no "service". you pay for nothing, you get nothing. The game manufacturer as to own their servers, pay their bandwith. if it suck, it\'s not sony\'s fault.

When you PAY for MS "service", you pay for the bantwith and server cost, wich you already paid a part by buying their "online kit". Wich you already paid when you buy each game, because each manufacturer as to pay a tribute to MS each time they use their librairies of pgms for online game, they pay tribute each time they put the "online logo" on their game box~. All in all, MS is laughing is ass hard to each sheep that contribute.. a milkcow~

Is PC gaming online world suck ? their service is soooo the same thing as Sony~ People play the game they want, on the server they want.

^^^Thats exactly the problem. The PS2 wasn\'t designed from the ground up to take advantage of online capabilities so it will always seem like it was something on the backburners. I stand by the fact that anyone who says sony\'s online plan is better than Xbox Live has not played Xbox Live. I probably wouldn\'t play PS2 online at all if Madden(and all EA games for that matter) were available on Xbox Live. Its that good.
