That\'s very interesting considering Thanksgiving has little religious influence... Oh well, sucks for them.

I figured you were when you said you don\'t celebrate those things. No birthdays, no Christmas. Are you a practicing Witness or just going with the family\'s flow?

To answer all those posts:

It is not a religious holiday, but it is a govermental holiday. Witnesses do not celebrate any holidays, including birthdays - though I did recently start celebrating mine. Out of my 20 years, I\'ve celebrated two birthdays and only limited people actually celebrated them with me.

I am no longer a witness. I left the religion when I was 13 or so - but a lot of my family still is, therefor I just go with the family flow. I could of went to friends house to eat, but if you don\'t celebrate something all your life, it\'s odd to start so late in your life.

Michael Jackson is no longer a witness either. He was disfellowshipped when he done the Thriller video, due to demonic overtones.

Pagan holidays.

Thanksgiving is a govermental holiday. Don\'t any goverment based things.

Christmas focus on the birth of christ - Witnesses don\'t believe that was important. Focus on his death.

Easter - not even sure what that holiday is about, to be honest..

Easter is supposively the rebirth of Christ.

I celebrate holidays even though I am not religious. I just see them as festivities, example: Christmas, I know it is suppose to be the birth of christ ( ), but I just see it as family time.

So basically JW are just gloomy folks?

JW\'s are not gloomy folks and while I am not religious, I don\'t celebrate the holidays. The fact that you don\'t believe in God and do celebrate Christmas makes you more of a hyprocrate than anything.

I figure if I don\'t believe in God, never celebrated holidays, I don\'t need to start. I have all year for family time and don\'t need a set aside time to spend tie and apperciate the family members I do like (which is very few).

LIC...out of jest and curiousity, when\'s that last time Witnesses had an "End of the World Jamboree"? Was that in 1972 or 1977?

If I am correct of which I think I am, easter celebrates Jesus\'s death and ressurection freeing us all of sin. Or I could be horribly wrong.

Think, before you assume.

A jehovah\'s witness that likes and belives in body modification?
