Speculation from fans, and bullshit dates from retail stores like EB Games to shut up the people who ask for HALO 2\'s release date a million times a day. Bungie made it clear since HALO 2\'s announcement not to believe any release dates unless you hear it from them directy, that they would announce a release date when they were truly confident they could deliver it in time.

... ... Direct your friend to Bungie\'s official HALO site, tell him to look at the most recent news article, and see what he has to say then.

Fall 2004, guys. No sooner, no later. It\'s official now.

On the topic of the Xbox controller: Controller S is fantastic. The only true flaw would be the placement of the white/black buttons as LiC indicated.. and that\'s a minor problem. Better than N64\'s? Heck yeah.

N64\'s controller has one advantage over any controller this generation, and that\'s the Z trigger. It could have probably been implemented on the GCN (or Xbox) controller as a middle-finger button. (leaving the GCN\'s Z button alone as a sort of \'Select\' button) Otherwise, the N64\'s controller stinks. Bad analog stick (the first of its kind for consoles, innovative but flawed) and bad button placement. (referring to the C buttons)

I do wish that they\'d kept the the D-Pad from the N64 controller and used it on the GCN pad, but eh..

One last thing about the N64 pad: it worked very very well with Nintendo\'s own games (just like the GCN pad) but had limited appeal with 3rd-parties due to the unorthodox layout.

Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

im talking about the ones without vibration, and instead of how the sticks look now, they had a dent in them at the top

In place of the sticks there were two \'Rolo\' shaped lumps, not very good IMO.

DS2 ruled all, I bought one just for the GT demo!.

June 1997 apparently. I thought it was earlier but I must have been mistaken.

N64 analog controller was out before Sony\'s version (n64 release in Sept 96).  Don\'t wanna sound like a fanboy but Nintendo did the shoulder buttons, vibration, and analog thumbstick before anyone else.

It wasn\'t until the GC controller that they didn\'t try something new.  The only thing Sony did new were analog buttons, which kickass btw.  Sega first did LCD displays in the controller (via VMU), and MS has yet to do something new.
