some form of cap is need in all sports....thats my opinion.

Im not signing your thing because, well I hate baseball.  Ouch, i sprained my pinky, im out for 3 weeks.  That kind of attitude doesn\'t fly with me.  Personally, besides pitching, anyone can play some form of professional baseball, all you have to do is catch and throw.  If you don\'t know how to do that, you aren\'t reading this.  Or you are vapor snake.

You\'re kind of ignorant to baseball if you think it\'s that easy, especially batting.

Hitting a 100 mph fastball is the single hardest thing to do in sports.  Hand-eye cordination like that should be respected.

What would you rather be on sportscenter........NBA?

I\'m now getting word the Yankees are after Greg Maddux.

Yeah but the yankees have a shakey staff, he\'d be somewhat of a veteran.

The Yankees are the next NY Rangers.  All the talent in the world doesn\'t mean a thing - jusk as the NY Rangers who haven\'t won the Cup in ten years, let alone make the playoffs.  Jbean was right the NHL is dying for the same reason - no salary cap.

Hockey is my sport and I am not looking forward to next season because there won\'t be a season.  The greedy players have already stated they can outlast the owners.

The Rangers are different.  The Yankees get the things they actually need.  I\'ll be damned if the Rangers are ever smart enough to just sign a couple good stay at home defensemen

Greg de Vries

The Rangers statistically should be ahead of Detroit and the Avs - just look at their payroll and the talent on that team.  The Yankees are no different in that respect, but they win.

I mean look at this talent and they can\'t even make the freaking playoffs!?!?

Potential Superstars, superstars OR former 1st round draft picks

Jaromir Jagr
Pavel Bure - IR
Eric Lindros - IR
Brian Leetch
Alexei Kovalev
Bobby Holik
Petr Nedved - 2nd overall pick in 1990
Martin Rucinsky
Darius Kasparaitis
Dan Blackburn - IR

Only Leetch and Kovalev were originally drafted by the Rangers and Kovalev was traded away 1998 only to be reacquired during the Pens firesale.  Dan Blackburn has been on IR and hasn\'t quite proven himself yet.  Messier is having an decent season that most players would be jealous of given his age.

You have a good 4 - 5 HOF players right there and all but one have been imported.

The thing is, you can\'t build a team entirely out of super stars like that.  You have to have roleplayers, more tough players.

Besides, a lot of those players are past their primes.  I mean, I don\'t need to tell you that Eric Lindros isn\'t what he once was.  Same goes for a lot of those guys.  But the fact remains, someone like Jagr wasn\'t what the Rangers needed.  They need tough defensemen who stay back and play defense.  Then they will improve, and not until then.  That\'s been their need for years and they have thrown money away just getting the biggest names available instead.

The Yanks actually spend intelligently.  They needed a 3b when Boone went down.  So they got someone to fill that hole.  Now they\'re going after Maddux after losing 3 pitchers in the offseason and only really getting two back.  It all makes sense.  You hate them for being able to do it, but it makes sense.

Hey I don\'t care about baseball, but the NHL and MLB do have one thing in common and that is the need for a salary cap.  Eric Lindros was having his best season in years before getting another concussion and with that much offense they should be putting the puck in the net a lot more often than they are.

I think if a team has lots of money they should be able to spend how they please. Salary cap is not fair all the time and has it\'s disadvantages.

If u got it and wanna spend you should be able too.

A rod has a 120million dollar contract maybe a salary cap should be on player salaries.

These guys keep asking and asking for more money.
