Reality shows and the minorities
« Reply #45 on: June 29, 2004, 05:44:17 PM »
it never really bothered me as i rarely watch those reality shows anyway..i watched friends and thought it was a funny show..didn\'t even pay attention to the fact that there was no blacks on the show...

that said the only show that i really liked was martin..that show was funny as hell! we live in a country that\'s 80% white so it\'s no mystery as to what you\'re going to see on tv...for shows like the bachelor/bachelorette i feel they should just keep the themes the same and not cater to the minorities in that aspect...i know it\'s hard hearin this comin from me since i\'m usually the 1st to bring up the race card...

oh and one more thing..i like meth & redman but i just saw there show a week ago...that show is not gonna last a month..s**t was  wack..the bernie mac show is funny too..i guess i can relate alot to that show since he\'s raisin\' kids on it..

Well i didnt say they didnt like watching other races but just think about it. Its just how it is here in chicago. Its a very diverse city yet at the same time one of the most segregated in terms of living areas. People of one race like to do things with their own people. Its not like the dont like doing things with others but i bet if you ask anybody if their family could only hang out or live around one race they would easily say their own despite the unfairness of that question.

White people DO like to see other white people on television. Just like any other race likes to see their people on television. You dont see white people watching BET. Or at least not a lot. And you dont see a lot of minorities watching those Uber white television shows. Its just a fact. Im not saying that nobody likes watching other people its just that many people if they had to make a choice would do something or watch their own people.

Not everybody cares either. I usually dont. I mean, for a last example, most people want their children to marry within their own race. Not everybody is hellbent on the subject but some people are.

I wont drag this on but thats just my point.

 I am not the idiot who contradicted himself in the same paragraph.  Oh and your clarification is still a contradiction.  Anyone reading your posts can see it.  Now do me a favor and STFU.  The debate on this matter is done - if you want to continue to play the part of the village idiot feel free to pm me.

First off,  I never really watched that much "Friends", but I don\'t see too many blacks hanging out with the cast of friends.

Chanler would be affraid, Ross would get his ass beat for saying something stupid, Monica and Rachel would have babies from the same black friend, so all you would have left would be Fibi and Joey, who would probably end up banging and having little stupid psychic babies.

that would be the end of "friends"

I didnt think minorities actually watched tv.

I thought stealing them was enough entertainment.

Its too much garbage for my tastes. Not everything on tv is garbage but the vast majority easily is. If I watch TV is usually really late (12-4am) and i watch a lot of movies. Digital cable and Direct Tv.

Shit id rather go out stealing tv\'s, cappin off niggas and saving the world from television over watching it anyday :D

I concur, quite comical indeed.
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.
