I could care less about the trial, but Saddam is one funny mofo.

If we go to war, their government will collapse most likely. Their economy is on the verge of collapse as it is. Just hang in there for a few months and they won\'t be able to afford a war and their economy as well as government will collapse.

They could still possibly nuke south korea, and I don\'t think it would be fair to put them at such a risk.

Titan, you prove that you have no understanding of the situation whatsoever.  North Korea has 11,000 Artillery pieces trained on South Korea.  If we cross the border, Seoul could be obliterated in minutes.  South Korea is an IMPORTANT economic partner to the United States.  We cannot possibly take such a risk.  Why do you think we have been at a standoff with them for the last 50 years?  Do you think somehow the equation is going to magically change next week, and we\'re going to suddenly decide "It\'s time to take them down?"     You have no idea what you\'re talking about.

I never said we did. I said that if the talks with N. Korea don\'t improve (which it does look it according to some articles I have read), invasion is a possible outcome, especially if they do something to S. Korea. I never said that they weren\'t important (S. Korea). I know they are economically important. You are taking what I said too out of context and completely missed the point of my post.

EDIT: Plus, things can happen in a week. You never know what N. Korea might do (although I doubt they will do anything at this point). But we do have troops there in S. Korea. I also never said that S. Korea can survive a war also. You are saying Seoul can be obliterated in minutes. No shit. N. Korea  has a powerful military and it won\'t be an easy war, assuming it ever happens; not to mention very unpopular. The only way I see we go to war with them soon is if they attack first. I guess I was a bit too rash by saying we will invade N. Korea. But if Bush is re-elected, it is always a possibility :p

They could not have over thrown Saddam and now that he\'s out of power, things will get better. Putting Bush on trial coz Americans died in battle is idiocy. You might as well put Lincoln, Wilson, Roosevelt and Kennedy on there as well. Too bad they\'re dead. :)

i said it before & it needs to be stated again...how can the u.s. give a just cause for democracy when they are allies with arab nations that are not a democracy but have issues with arab countries that are a democracy but just don\'t agree with u.s. policies? michael moore is probably a hypocrite to some degree,.but so is the u.s.

that said i agree with saddam that this whole trial thing is a joke,.. just charge him & get it over with...saddam was a bad man..no denying that but this whole court scene is for what?.. complete waste of time....

Which Arab democracy has issues (and what issues) with the US?

Wait wait...I got yer question...we\'re allies with Arab nations that are not a democracy...like Saudi Arabia. But Saudi Arabia has issues with Arab countries that are a democracy. Which Arab nation (that is a democracy) has Saudi have a beef with?

yea you got it right & saudi arabia was on that list..i can\'t remember what arab countries were democratic that the u.s. had beef with i think egypt was one of them..cnn had a list of democratic arab countries that the u.s. didn\'t necessarily agree with or see eye to eye on..

a few weeks back cnn did a special one week coverage on the issue of iraq by arabs, the british & the americans..it was very interesting to see how all of those nationalities saw the war in general..very interesting look...anyway i say all that to say that that is where i saw the countires (democratic arab countries) that the u.s. did not see eye to eye with..some countries were some that i didn\'t even recognize..but saudi arabia is the one that stands out the most with it being a dictatorship and not a democracy at all...

y\'know if it wasn\'t for saddam gasin\' his own people and the mass murders..he might actually have a decent defense to this war..y\'know false pretenses (no wmd\'s) and who\'s to say that it\'s just not a matter of the way he ran his country? yes it was wrong but that goes back to how the u.s. let s**t slide with other countries that are not democratic...

hey..in some countries they\'ll cut your hand off for stealing,..i\'ve even heard they\'ll put you to death for sleeping with another man\'s wife..harsh?.. yes.. inhumane? maybe, but it\'s only inhumane to western culture..not theirs..

bottom line is that the u.s. went to war for wmd\'s not because saddam was a bad man..and in that aspect he has a pretty decent defense...on the way he treated his people..well it was his country,..but for the most part i think the iraq\'s are gonna execute him for it...

Where did you get that information?  If we were going to war over WMD\'s wouldn\'t we already have attacked N. Korea according to your logic?
