Aftershocks. AWESOME. This is exactly what they needed.

Mother Nature Sucks. The toll is up to 150 grand...it\'s like my entire city going up in smoke, almost (I live in a town of 225 thousand, the capital of Nebraska)...when will it stop? Ugh.

See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

GO CUBS!

This really does make me feel hopeless here in America. I wish I could go there and help in the relief efforts and help them clean up. But what can I do. I\'m 18, a senior in high school and heading off to college in several months. But damn, I just want to be there to help these people out. If someone gives me the address of a place to donate money to this cause specifically, tell me.

The first bodies came home today at 03:27 on a C130 Hercules.

The king Carl XVI Gustav, queen and their children, prime minister and the archbishop were there.

They were carried off the plane by men from the Home Guard.

These are just the first few of perhaps 1000 people coming home. :(

Three minutes of silence today at 12:00 all across Europe to honor those who perished in the waves.

Stockholm Centralstation stood still for 3 minutes.

As did the coppers, foto from Linköping.

And in workplaces (Volvo).

The lifts stopped in Vemdalen.

And at the beaches of Visby, Gotland.

Rome Italy

Prince Albert of Monaco

Outside the EU parlament.

Gustav Adolf\'s square in Göteborg.

How many Swedes are missing or dead? I heard the Americans may have lost about 6000 but I\'m not certain.

6000? Wow, I didnt think it were that many. CNN rarely mentions the US figures. :(

Sweden has 1 903 missing, some 60 confirmed dead, its the biggest loss of life we\'ve ever had in modern time. The second largest was the Estonia sinking (501).

Right now there are 36 U.S. dead with 3,000 unaccounted for, according to CNN.

I went by the estimates from last weekend. I knew it would change as more Americans showed up.

Most interesting thing throughout this is the small amount of wildlife dead. They say it was some sort of sixth sense that they could sense the danger and warned eachother and got to higher ground. Also a girl who learned about tsunami\'s in school saw the water line being drawn back and knew it was coming and wanred the people on the beach and probably saved a lot of lives. A little light in this disaster.

yeah,

i heard a story from my mother that elephants in India run to high ground mountain before the tsunami started.

These elephants are trained to take tourists around the beach.

But like hour before it started,
these elephants started to act strange and crying and started to pack people on top of them and started running up the mountain.

One elephant was chained to the ground pulled out the chain with him and started running up the hill.  As soon as he got to the top, the water almost got him...

I agree... definitely the greatest catastrophe of my lifetime. My dorm section is having a party this Friday, and we\'re raising money for victims. Should be sweet getting trashed for a good cause.
