There is no official word yet, but the Italian news has told the US that the Pope had died.  The smoke is expected to rise around 2:00.

Man and I just posted an article in Current Events about his deteriorating health. He really was supposed to die many times (he was shot and had some pretty close calls within the last few years) and he came out of it alright. This really is unfortunate.

EDIT: Just flipped on Fox News and its true.

It said unconfirmed reports that he\'s dead, then it changed to "brain & heart still functioning", so who knows? It could just be another false alarm.

I don\'t think he\'ll see the night out though whatever the situation is.

CNN had a banner claiming he\'d dead.

Then they took it down.

Now they have a new one that says the Vatican denies those reports.

Vatican says "April Fools! But he\'s really really sick."
