I get mad when games only use the D pad (virtua fighter & tekken come to mind),  I use the analog sticks 90% of the time, but I still occasionally use the dpad in certain games so by no means am I saying it needs to be totally removed.

This is completely unscientific, but I was playing around in PS to compare the size of the two consoles. I compared the relative size of the DVD tray.
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAPETIME!
(thanks Chizzy!)

The face buttons are too far apart. The D-Pad looks weak (which has always been the best quality of the PS controller in comparison to others\'). Or maybe it\'s just fine? Wanting a hands-on. My hands, not yours.

Is it just me or is this thread getting  sexyer per post ?

Okay, someone needs a pants-on. Don\'t let the zipper nip you on your way back in.

I definitely think the D-Pad should stay where it is. It\'s a must for games that require digital precision (fighting games, puzzle games, etc.) and I like it how the analog sticks are level to each other. More precision to the sticks though, the DS2 sticks were still a bit too wobbly.

I\'ve spent a few hours looking through E³ footage. Impressive/intresting stuff on the PS3 front. The Box360 combo platter seemed less intriguing. (not by means of quality technical performance, but the games line-up)

Damn, I said BLACK! Black is sexayh.

EDIT: It\'s funny how everyone\'s just playing it safe, showing titles with excess visual flare. Nothing too original on show for the next gen consoles. At least in the reports I\'ve witnessed thus far.

Shadow of the Colossus is the only game I\'ve got my eyes on right now. Magickal. And We Love Katamari. And maybe something else.

I CAN\'T BELIEVE IT\'S AN EDIT: Doesn\'t anyone else think the "PlayStation 3" font looks a tad too similar to the one used in the Spiderman movie titles?

I cant imagine performing combos with the same accuracy as the d-pad with the analog

Ico\'s still my fav. Looking forward to that new Shadow of Colossus game, but the question is : will it be able to NOT disappoint after Ico ? :(

I see alot of ppl b1tching about the spiderman font on PS3. Personally, I have no problems with it. i think it looks cool.

yep, I mentioned that a few pages back. But it was a Sony picture so they own the font. Still I would\'ve liked atleast some visable changes this makes me think "Spiderman the console"

Sorry for bringing up old crap. :p I\'m not bitching about the font, it just looks a bit odd. The PS2 logo was just so sleek and unique at the time, and didn\'t carry any weird connotation like "WTF Spideyfont!?", as you mention...

I should really do tomorrow\'s homework...

BTW, now that I tried to get up, I noticed something laying on the floor, kinda reminds me of something else...

God this pad sucks.

Riddle me this, why does almost every hardware manufacturer insist on making the D-pad a disc, rather that just 4 arrows like the PS controller. I\'ve yet to come by a circular D-pad that\'s at least remotely reliable.

Nice controller comparison Hawke..

There\'s also this old PSX third party controller, which was actually really good.
