Real-time, but I doubt it\'s in-game.  It\'s far too precise and is obviously scripted.

I "hope" you\'re wrong !
But if in-game is only 75% of this, than it\'ll rock !

it looks like someone playing it to me.  Although they weren\'t playing it "real-time" it looked like a recorded demo to me.  I don\'t see why the final game won\'t look at least this good, if not better.

Anyone remember these?

If I remember correctly, those were real-time as well.  I don\'t know about you, but I don\'t have a PS2 game that features in-game graphics equal to those.  Seems to me there\'s a difference in rendering in-game play and completely scripted events.

RIKKU!  Don\'t you remeber Sony said the PS2 could render Toy Story and Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within in real-time?  I don\'t understand all the pessimism. ;)

But really if they can get Killzone to look even a little like the demo I\'ll be more than happy.

I swear , some people don\'t understand "real-time" and "real-time scripted".

Let me explain this.

When it is "real-time scripted", then the CPU isn\'t doing nearly as much work. You don\'t have to worry about draw distance as much. Dropping frames due to camera turning and what not. Yes, it is the engine of the game, but it is not what you\'ll see in the end. It is not with everything turned on.

Show me someone, with a controller, PLAYING the games. That is true real time. That is when you can expect a game to look like that.

Why do i see so much sceptism as if ppl are digging into a warzone dug-out and disappointment are the flying bullets they seemingly expect ?

The important things is the base engine, the realtime image output of the game.

If the final product has cutbacks it will probably be in the amount of effects, not so much, quality.

Look at the Gears of War clip for Xbox360
then look at it\'s tech specs. After that look at this Killzone clip again, then look at the PS3 specs and then do some deduction.

Actual gameplay does take a lot more porcessor power. The console has to move the game unpredictably (from the players input), and the AI has ot react accordingly.

Not saying this is not possible in game, but until we honestly see and read about hands on gameplay I would expect these demos to be a better looking product then the final in game graphics.

There were some gameplay demos shown at the end of the conference and they looked mighty impressive, still I\'ll wait for future footage to be able ot more accurately judge. We went though this same thing last generation

Stop posting those ugly ass PS2 tech demos, PS2 has clearly advanced well past those kind of graphics.. For better pictures go here:

I will recommend the Insomniac FPS and the Killing Day game. The Insomniac video was recorded gameplay from a very early build. Killing Day looked more advanced and had some things which looks to be gameplay.

GT5
TTT has characters as detailed as the RR girl with detailed backrounds as well
As for the rubber ducky demo there are lots of games featuring realistic water effects.ICO for example does have nice looking water effects. And its not just a tub with a ducky in it

PS2\'s tech demos mostly featured a couble of characters on screen with simple backrounds.Which means they could have added more detail(which was absent) than what they showed if you are right. But full games really outclassed these simple tech demos

And unlike the PS2 tech demos PS3\'s demos showed detailed worlds and characters with tons of things happening on screen at the same time.

Even if the killzone video is scripted it doesnt fail to amaze. If its real time ofcourse.

I\'m asking: Why should they show just a "normal" CG Trailer ?! We know those trailers since FF...
The show was to let ppl know what to expect (or nearly expect) from the PS3.

then if thats the case we are bound to be dissapointed thats for sure
If what they have shown was on actual hardware not on speculated performance then this is what we will get.Otherwise...:(
