Stunning PGR3 Screens
« on: July 04, 2005, 06:53:58 AM »
I came across this story over at the bit-tech. Apprently Bizarre Creations has been taking alot of heat from the gaming community, mainly being accused of posting doctrine photos of PGR3 backround. Well Bizarre has responded by re-releasing the screens shots with the wire frame included. Take a Look what do you guys think? those have to be the most detailed in in game HD rendering I have ever seen, However we should not be too impressed after all this level of detail is     at minimum expected with next gen Hardware.  PGR3 is a start for a 1gen game. Also Funny side note, I realize that this game is still in early development, but the buildings far exceed the cars in level of detail. Guess it\'s time for them to start polishing those babies up.

"Yes, it is possible to get all areas of the game that need it up to this level of detail - that’s what you get for 2 years work with up to 35 artists here at Bizarre, plus additional help from outsourcing companies!" (Bizarre Creations

Impressive, I was wondering if those were real or not.  I think the cars look fantastic.

I like these two...

(Dashboard)

(Track Editor)

The track editor interest me the most.  There will be five cities in the final game, and you\'ll be able to make your own race track.

J Allard also commented that that\'s just a small part of what they\'re doing.  The gamer will also be able to build roads, place buildings, and make their own game art.  I\'m curious to see how this all works out.

The original PGR was great looking but lacked in gameplay, so we\'ll see if that happens again.

If they are real

Um that\'s was the whole point of them releasing the in game wire frames, to disprove any notion of faked screenshots.

Let me reiterate this, I personally am a little bit confused as to why people think those screenshots give a representation that is far too real for next gen consoles, when in fact I consider them minimal based on the potential power that both next gen hardware Xbox360 and PS3 hold.

I do agree they are impressive when you compare them to the previous generation.

What do you mean it lacked in gameplay?

The arcade racing, time, and kudos challenge would take alot of skill, and alot of time, to complete.  Need I mention the dozens of different courses?  PGR has more features than most other racers, never mind that the sequel improved upon that and added online play.

PGR3 is going to add damage that effects driving, a track editor and more.

That said, I suspect you don\'t care for the kudos system.  If that\'s the case then you should definitely avoid the series.

Yeah. Not a fan of PGR at all, though 2 seemed a bit more interesting.

The building models look do-able but the dash.... i dont know why you would need to see that in the middle of the game but meh.

i think rikku mentioned something about cars takin on damage in the game....as crazy as this sounds, i would rather the cars not take on any damage. i reserve that for games like burnout and such. as real as these games try to be pgr, turismo, etc...it\'s still a far way off as far as physics go...i mean when you\'re playin the game, alot of the times you\'re smashing up against the walls and smashing into other cars, when in reality this doesn\'t happen half as much...

i know it all has to do with physics and ai and stuff, but all i\'m sayin is that even with the way games are bein made now, at least on the sym side of it, these types of games aren\'t ready for that true damage effect until they get the other factors down perfectly...

Nice screen shots.  I dont think they\'re stunning,  but nice

Extras!

Track editor, game art and a nice online mode look good.  This game is drawing me more and more ever since NFS sold it\'s soul to 4 bangers

Too bad it is on an inferior console with too few fun games to be worth purchasing.  I probably won\'t miss nothing.  It may suck like everybody says the first 2 did
