Same here...but then you might give Nintendo the false illusion that their crappy controller idea was a hit if people buy the console for that reason.

The GC ports will be for Gamecube backwards compatibility only.

Wii games will use the Wii controller. That controller will also fit into a more commonly shaped shell controller, while still retaining its 3D mouse-like capabilities.

If thats the case GC ports or not, my previous post is still valid then. Wii is going to get many exclusives thats for sure but I think its going to loose many due to its unique controller and probably its technical limitations too. Unless developers are willing to make special versions of their games specifically for Wii\'s unique features.

I cant see fighting games being functional with that controller, or even probably  racing games. I think it could be the best controller for first person view but I wonder how functional its going to be under a third-person camera.

I think it will be a good idea if they include a GC controller in it that will be functional with Wii games that wont use the Wii controller.

On the other hand I wonder how this will affect developers because many of them might prefer to use the standard used and tested old control scheme since its available instead of risking with something new, rendering the Wii controller and its unique possibilities/potential unused, thus making Wii look like just another console with lower quality graphics

And truth be told only LIC jumps in all conversations insisting his views no matter how wrong they are calling evryone that has a different view an idiot, dumbass or whatever.

And LIC stop being pathetic by deleting my posts. if there\'s one post that deserves to be deleted is YOURS and JUMPMAN\'S.

I corrected you. You jumped in this conversation without knowing any facts, so hush. If you want to debate, at least know the facts. If not, don\'t come in here mouthing about something and then when corrected cry like a three year old. The rest of us are debating if the Wii controller will be worth anything, and we are debating with facts, such as the fact it has gamecube controller ports built in the system - you didn\'t know this, but you still felt like you should be a troll and chime in.

Deleting your posts? What the hell are you even talking about now? If I wanted to delete your posts, I\'d do it every single time. But still, keep trollin\' and I can start deleting them, I mean, if you accuse me of it, I may as well do it.

Uh.........
You can\'t see a racing game being functional with it? You\'re crazy. That part has been explained a hundred times already - hell, that was explained when the controller was first unveiled. The only genre that may suffer will be the fighting games and those are not exactly popular now\'a\'days, are they? And even then, the system will support the gamecube controller for any games that people do not want to play with the wii controller.

Same was said about the DS and it is making a killin\'. Not only is the first party support providing great games, but some third party applications are outstanding. And what techincal limitations? Sure, it won\'t be as powerful as the PS3 and Xbox 360 - but it still won\'t be a slouch. Not to mention Nintendo is not even trying to compete with that market. Hell, graphics are getting to a point of diminishing returns in the console area anyways, at least in my humble opinion. I agree with Nintendo\'s logic that graphics are eventually not goin\' to be the selling point of games, we need games that are different in approach . Now how much the Wii controller will make them different is up to debate, but what is not up for debate, is the fact that Nintendo is NOT COMPETING WITHH SONY OR MS. They are carving a niche\' out. Will it work? I think so. Not only will it be priced below all the other systems, but the controller itself is different enough to generate hype and interest in the mass market.

It shouldn\'t be an issue (to not know all facts in an open forum), unless
there is some sort of personal vendetta going on from both sides.
That\'s insane. If that is the case, then let\'s all just spout random nonsense out and try to have an intelligent debate. Facts are the most important part about a debate, otherwise it\'s just bullshit. He came off with nonsense and was corrected, end of story.

\'fact\' & \'debate\' are big words. Atm we have some facts and a whole lot of \'if\' and \'might be\' about Wii.

If someone\'s claiming the console is no good for some reason and a fact proves otherwise, then yes, the claim is invalid.

Being corrected isn\'t exactly namecalling either. Reminds me of the Overlook Hotel butler, heh.

Getting contradicting information here. Does anyone have any actual articles discussing the matter? I\'d like to know if the ports are for more than just backwards compatibility.

And here\'s an article titled "Revolution games won\'t use Gamecube controllers." http://geek.com/news/geeknews/2006Jan/bga20060213034709.htm

Agree\'d.

PA is funny to those uber-nerds and no one else.

Illwillpress.com - that\'s funny.

Neither of those are funny.

I post at the PA forums regularly and I barely find their comic humorous. Now Achewood and PBF? That\'s some good stuff.

yea..Eik that article cleared up all of the confusion,.:fro:..and while i honestly don\'t believe that having that wand controller as the only controller for "wii" games, i do feel it will be incredibly risky,..maybe some slick marketing will save it,...but i can\'t see this controller being nothing more than a gimmick...i commend nintendo on tryin\' somethin\' different and who knows, maybe people will flock to this thing just because it\'s nintendo,..and well i guess you can\'t forget mario,..but overall we\'ll have to wait and see. the more i think about it, the more i couldn\'t see myself personally enjoyin\' this controller,...especially since this will be the only controller for "wii" games...
