PS3 goes GOLD!

like you said, many people like me don\'t like the idea of external power supply.  I prefer internal power supply anyday.  I remember when XBOX360 first release, some users witnessed system crashed and the external power supply overheat.  (Not saying because its external that its overheat, its just that its new) i remember reading an article in this forum about someone managed to fix the overheat issue by tying the external power supply up in mid-air with strings to fix the game crashes and stuff...

I forgot about the power brick. I have that on another shelf, heh. It\'s a monstrosity, but fit hidden away behind my PStwo or something or other.

I cannot understand the PSU decision. Engineering logic ( which i don\'t even have much ) states the opposite of putting the PSU in the casing.

Not a smart move, Sony...

Well only when the console becomes available we will know if its a bad move, because its logical to expect that Sony knows this and would have tried to fix it

Contradictory Article

Although unclear if he meant NA production, or production in general, Kaz Hirai (SoA president) says that although production lines are being finalized, and parts checked, the PS3 isn\'t in production yet.  This contradicts last month\'s report that PS3 production had started, although he reconfirms that Sony wants to ship at least 2 million units to launch, and still expects shortages.
