uhh… What are fly balls to left field?
The disparity between PC and console gaming has gone from night and day, shrinking to next to nothing over the last 15 years. I think after the dust settles from this coming console generation it will become obvious to just about everyone the benefits to be gained by having a powerful fixed platform to develop games on will far outweigh the negligible increases to be had from the numerous PC upgrades we’ll see over, say, the next 5 to 7 years. At this point in time it’s all about increased costs vs. diminishing returns due to the dead end of physical limitations the silicon chip industry is starting to run straight up against.
