Got my Wii

Do not get Monkey Ball. The main game is old by now and the multiplayer mini games suck. I\'ve heard Rayman is much better in that regard.

Trauma Center I\'ve played enough to give impressions - and basically, it\'s quirky fun for play in short bursts. Definitely more of a handheld (Nintendo DS) style game, but it\'s fun.

As for 30 - 70 hour games, Nintendo systems typically don\'t get RPGs so for quality games, the only options on the horizon might be Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3. And those will likely weigh in on the shorter end of your scale.

I believe there is a Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles game in the works with a modified play style from the crappy first outing.

And there is a Dragon Quest game but I think it\'s some kind of action spin-off.

Third party support is looking pretty weak moving forward.

There are a couple dark horses for further on down the line such as Disaster: Day of Crisis and Sadness.

Corrected.

Nintendo approves these things.

Not like during the NES days, which even then was just like "Pay for the approval stamp."

And actually, Red Steel isn\'t broken. It\'s an average game with a new control scheme. It\'s ok.

Oh wait, this was about GT Pro Series right? Yeah that one looks like ass, haha.

I just read teh review for that Fishing Tournement game for the Wii.

What a flop. Perhaps only Zelda and Wii Sports are the most worthy games for the Wii, so far?

I did say that Call of Duty 3 sucks, right? ;)

Most worthy? Definitely. The rest range from bad to above average, with maybe Trauma Center being \'good\' if that\'s your type of game.

Looks like slim pickins through the next few months, but Metal Slug Anthology, True Swing Golf, Elebits and Far Cry: Vengeance (giving it the benefit of the doubt) are on their way by year\'s end. I want Golf for sure. That\'s been a blast on Wii Sports.

It\'s sounding like I should wait until my 15 and 18 year old brothers get the Wii - and go play it with them.

Maybe I should get a PSP.

I kinda feel like I\'m in a good position because there\'s so many good games I haven\'t yet played on PS2 that will be dirt cheap by the time I get around to them.  GT4 is $9.99 for example.
You\'ve no business in here!  This is my masturbatorium!

I know what you mean Sara. There are so many PSX and PS2 (and older games too on other systems) that I still want. One day I\'m just gonna go in to Gamestop or something and just get a load of games I\'ve always wanted. I don\'t necessarily have to play them but I can play them when I get the chance though.

Eyetoy is an addon to the PS2 and Wii is a console put out by Nintendo. Hope that helps ;)

How are they anywhere close to the same? They Eytoy is a camera add-on for the PS2 and the Wii is a console that has a controller that can detect motion and tilt as well as detect where it\'s pointing.

EyeToy is a webcam, basically.

Wii is a console with a motion sensing controller. The PS3 has a motion sensing controller as well, but is nothing like the EyeToy.

^^^titan, echo, eik...thanks :) when eyetoy first came out i never really knew what it was. i generally just saw a bunch of people kinda interacting with the game, so i thought the wii was similar in nature.

You\'re not the first to make that comparison.

The EyeToy had some fun minigames with it that had the same effect as Wii. It was easy and fun enough that anyone would give it a try. But the device wasn\'t designed well enough to use a wide variety of software. Some developers tried with a Billy Hatcher game and a Nights game. (OK, I guess just Sega tried).

But holding your arms out gets tiring and the camera needed a freaking floodlight to detect a person. It was a cute idea, though, and maybe the PS3 EyeToy will improve on it. They\'ve got some wacky ideas for that thing that include using it to scan playing cards, which sounds too convoluted to be any fun.

Meanwhile, Microsoft\'s Xbox Live Vision Cam just uses your photo or a streaming image of the user (or whatever is in front of the camera) for games like Uno. This feature is typically naughty, from what I understand, heh.
