Tear it apart

Tell me what I\'ve done wrong, what can be improved and whatnot.  Compliments are nice but I don\'t need them.  Be constructive though, "this sucks" won\'t help me improve the site.  Thanks in advance guys.

I know it doesn\'t work at all in IE and I haven\'t gotten around to figuring out why.

1) It doesn\'t resize at all for a smaller-than-full window...

2) Did you do the computer stuff completely from scratch?  The Bell X-1 picture looks a bit like a clipart Bell X-1 I have, so if it\'s not from scratch, make sure it\'s understood.

Small comments:
Nice clean layout, easy to navigate.  Information is clear and simple to find.  You might change your resume to "References Furnished on request" just so you don\'t repeat yourself.  Also, the resume seems very directed towards a specific field/job (working with computers/arts/design), and if this isn\'t what you are looking for specifically, you might want to pad it a bit and generalize a bit more.  Definitely add a picture or something to the start page (as opposed to the gray empty space).  Try to get some more content on there in the different sections, three or four is too few to show a variety of or mastery in a single medium.

Works fine in FF2.

1) Yeah, I realize this, unfortunately my expertise in HTML and CSS is limited to 2/3rds of a quarter so I\'m not exactly great at it yet.

2)The bell x-1 is an illustrator reproduction of the original stamp.  Once I get the bugs worked out on the rest of the site I\'ll be adding the descriptions to the work.

Its a portfolio site directly geared to getting an internship in the field of digital design.  I\'m not trying to show mastery, I just need to show I can do it, and do it well.  I\'m only a sophomore in college so in all reality this just needs to get me a job being a web monkey until my junior/senior year.

You really need to spice up your resume a bit. There\'s barely anything on it and you don\'t go into much detail about your skills.

No, my cell, go ahead and spam it if you want, I screen all my calls.  My resume isn\'t really a concern at the moment guys, can we um, look at the site maybe?

from work experience:

"opened and closed the shop"
"served water and bread to the customers"

neither of those are relevant for a future job.  take off your GPA, no interviewer will care.
expand your school experience as it looks like you want a job in that field.

why switch majors after 2 years?

Its an internship, my school experience is going to encompass another 4 years.  I\'ve only had 2 quarters of experience in my current field so there isn\'t a whole lot to put there yet.  The internship is a school wide requirement starting your sophomore year.  Every other quarter you work in the field.  I have another 2 months to edit my resume so its not too crucial of a concern yet.

I switched majors after 2 years because I realized that I didn\'t want to put myself through hell for the next 50+ years of my life.

That\'s sort of what I\'m going through now. Don\'t know if I want to spend my 20\'s doing endless hours of studying.

very nice start phil, my site wasn\'t that good when i was a sophomore.  that kicks ass that they\'re teaching you table-less design right off the bat, they sure didn\'t do that when I was in college!

I would add some depth to your header (make the text "pop out" more) and clean up the lines (the angled sides need anti-aliasing).

You can check my old-school site here for resume ideas: http://scottydesigns.bluesurfdesigns.com

it is out of date since I got my job but I pretty much based my site & resume around what others have done, so take a look at what\'s out there.

Add more content as others have said.  It doesn\'t even have to be that great, just lets people know that you\'re busy and have some experience.  Good luck with your internship, they are pretty much the only way to get a job in this industry.
