Hey btw I posted the video of the guy in a Shaolin/Chi Kung/Tai Chi forum. They say that such feats are possible by some masters and that some forum members have had similar experiences with such but usually masters demonstrate them only to close students.

Well Soully\'s instructors may laugh but others may find them quite normal

wheres your post?    i just find it odd that people believe this stuff when i\'ve been training for over 10 years, i\'ve meet a lot of high level instructors that would call this out right bs and would laugh at even the idea of it.  Chi is one thing, but making it so people can\'t touch you like out of some DBZ episode is another, to be honest i\'m not even interested in peoples "it happened to me" stories. Unless i experience myself i doubt i\'d ever believe it.

But thats what I ve been telling you in the first place. Many martial arts have been degraded since their most unique techniques are extremely hard to achieve.

I ve read 2 books one on Shaolin Kung Fu and one on Chi Kung and they do mention feats that are hard to believe.

Such weird abilities are a part of Chi and are mentioned in Chi Kung books. Dr Young the man who demonstrated these unbelievable but questioned abilities (because even I find hard to believe) seems to be known, give seminars, and demosntrate these in some kind of exhibitions from what I understand in front of judges and simple spectators. His ability to trick so many people to even offer him honors, titles and such is even more unbelievable is he is truelly a charlatan.

The most advanced forms of Chi Kung are only achievable by extremely few people. They involve huge efforts of mind control and meditation. Its almost as if you are trying to become a saint or something.

Thats why rarely you might find instructors that can actually do what few do, and because of this most have never ever experienced or being told about them, passing only what they know from student to student who then become instructors.

Chi Kung revolves around many aspects of mysticism especialy derived from Taoism, and I did a search in these forums and they seem to know about some mystical aspects of these arts. Spiritual aspects of the arts are totally trashed and abandoned.

This is a highly respectful forum btw created by Wong Kiewt Kit from what I understand, and there are many instructors and students posting in it. I doubt they will post crap and stuff. The instructors wouldnt have let it.

For me its a given that 99,99% of the instructors dont know or care about many aspects of the martial arts they are teaching.

no, not 99.99% of MA go into chi techniques. Not because they originally did, but simply because they didn\'t.  I don\'t know where you live, but there are a few schools that teach traditional styles here, not tournament directed styles. I\'ve moved between most of them, currently looking into jujitsu, although a sub style.

Just because they are traditional style doesn\'t mean they teach the traditional way.

Exactly. There are schools that teach "traditional" styles of some martial arts in cyprus as well.

Yet they lack compared to their true complete forms and the students dont learn as much as they should have had from the martial art.

Until i witness it for myself ill dismiss it as fake, and if I do experience it myself, i\'ll waste no time learning it for myself
