Even if you are a real drummer, the timing in Expert (and the other modes) is a bit too exact to nail your first (or even second) time through a song.

Sometimes kick-beats were omitted where they would have been normally, and I was penalized for filling in there.

yea i just got to where i can play half the songs on hard with drums but damn those metallica download songs namely Blackened will continue to kick my ass for quite some time i can tell

I heard that this game has a lawsuit against it?...not really sure if it\'s rock band or guitar hero, but i know it\'s one of them...

Thanks....so they\'re bein sued cause the songs used sounds too much like the original?...:confused:...so what? if anything it might make people want to buy your washed up cd...and i\'m sure that if activison secured the rights like the article states, i\'m sure that they probably gave them some money up front to use it....either that or maybe there was some type of agreement where...

1- they get paid for usin their music up front or..

2 - they only get paid from a certain percentage amount of total sales over a certain period of time...


Either way it just sounds like they\'re tryin to squeeze activision for more money like viper stated...

The agreement was that they could use a cover of the band and i\'m sure they paid a fee for it.  The band heard the song and says people will get confused its the real thing.

It clearly says "as made famous by" before the start of the song.  They won\'t win the case.

The attorneys for the Romantics have a point.  Video game developers, movie studios, and advertising agencies sometimes decide to use cover versions of famous songs because it\'s cheaper than licensing the authentic recording and paying royalties.  If the cover version is so well produced that it sounds virtually indistinguishable from the original, then the corporation is ripping off the artist by not paying royalties.
 
What they\'re saying is "We like your song so much we\'re going to make an EXACT copy of it, but we don\'t like it enough to pay you a royalty for the effort you made creating the original song we\'re copying."  To me, it\'s the corporation that\'s being greedy by screwing the artist out of their royalties.  If they like the song so much, maybe they should license the original recording.

Uh, no, they don\'t have a point. Unless you\'re literally taking the music from an original master recording, and you have the license to use the song, you can do whatever you like.

Think about it. Logistically, Activision/Harmonix is being sued for being good at what they do...

It\'s insanity. No wonder the Romantics are suing, their career has been in the toilet for over 20 years.

Its clearly stated its a cover of the song.  The only people who think its the real song are the people who can\'t read, and well activision shouldn\'t be sued for illiteracy.

Not to mention you would think that they\'d be happy their has-been asses are back in a popular mainstream outlet again.
