But this is partially the problem. Nationalism is used often to control people. It is another form of propaganda to send you and your compatriots to war for a cause you think is for the good of your country when it is actually for other interests. It communicates with your pride and emotions and sends you to die.

Nationalism and too much love for someone\'s country has also many times led to the destruction of their own nation.

Do not let holidays and celebrations attach to you. Do not ever give attention to politicians and officers when they are trying to communicate with your feelings through patriotism and values of your nation. Always think objectively and on your own so you would know when you will be going for a real cause. We should never go to war for our nation. We should go for our people, our friends and relatives. Patriotism is virtual and a tool of control

Um...what the fuck are you talking about? I took a nationalism class this past semester and nationalism never destroyed a country. You had different nations an ethnicities fight for a country in civil war but no country has ever been destroyed because of nationalism. In fact, it more often solidified a country or started new countries and nations. And nations are rarely destroyed except through war and even that was extremely rare. Of anything, it rallied other nations together that were similar to the nations warring and created allies, kind of like the French, English and Americans against the Germans.
